Branch 16 Perth Amboy, NJ By Monica Mirkovich Branch 16 Reporter On Dec. 9, William Penn Branch 16 held its annual Christmas party. The day started with hot dogs and chips for everyone. Branch President and National Director George Mirkovich welcomed everyone and introduced Chairman of the Board Michael Hrabar who brought greetings from the Home Office. The children were entertained by Johnny the Clown who performed magic and made balloon figures for everyone. Next came a sing-along led by Steve Mészáros. A surprise guest popped in during the singing of the old-time favorite, "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.” The day ended with visits to Santa and treats for everyone. The party was a success as 50 children and their families attended. The branch thanks all who helped make it such an exciting and eventful day, particularly: Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hrabar, Mr. and Mrs. George Mirkovich, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Mészáros, Annette David and Monica Mirkovich. Branch 26 Sharon, PA By Betty Panin Branch 26 President Our annual family Christmas party was held Dec. 9 at Holy Trinity Auditorium. We received many favorable comments, so we know it was enjoyed by all. We had a good turnout of children and adults. Attendance continues to go up each year. The menu followed a McDonald’s theme, featuring chicken nuggets and the appropriate trimmings, topped off by an array of pastries and beverages. Bo Bo the Clown captivated the children with an extraordinary magic show and balloon spectacle. But the highlight of the party was the appearance of Santa Claus who gave the children candy, fruit and pop corn balls along with the novelty items provided by the Home Office. The William Penn calendars, as always, were a favorite with the adults. Our many thanks go to those who helped make the party a success. We also thank the Home Office for its financial support which made it possible for our branch to provide three holiday baskets for needy families. We wish a prosperous and happy new year to all. Branch 28 Youngstown, OH By Kathy Novak Branch 28 Reporter Happy 1996! We hope all our members are surviving this old-fashioned winter weather. The inclement weather has caused many changes to routine schedules, including our branch meetings. Our election of new officers is still forthcoming. With the wonderful assistance of the Home Office, our branch hosted another successful Christmas party on Dec. 16. We sincerely thank the Home Office for its generosity and all our devoted, faithful members who worked to help prepare for the party. Branch President Steve Sándor welcomed everyone, then Santa Claus (branch member Joe Taylor) visited with the children. The Aut Mori Grotto Clowns provided the entertainment and led a sing-along. Santa and his helpers passed out treats and gifts. Before lunch was served, our branch photographer, Frank Schauer, gathered everyone for the annual picture. A big thank you goes out to Frank and his wife Mary for providing this service to our branch. Once again, our members came through to provide the lunch table with a nice selection of foods, including sandwiches, salads, casseroles, snacks, jello, cookies, strudel, cake and beverages.
