The date for our picnic was changed to Oct. 22 at the home of John and Sara Lesko. The hours are noon to 4:00 p.m. Our Christmas party will be held on Dec. 10 at 2:00 p.m. at the Egret Clubhouse. Birthday cakes and presents were presented to John Veres and Mary Werrlein. Prayers for a speedy recovery were offered for Elizabeth Posey. We hope to see you in Septem­ber. We miss you. Our annual William Penn scholarship drawing was held and the winners are E. E. Vargo, Louis Fodor and Richard Toth. Congratulations. For our members leaving Flor­ida for the summer, drive care­fully, and we look forward to seeing you in September. Eveleyn Glagola was honored as "Queen for the Day,” and she was presented with an orchid. Progressive bingo was played and door prizes were passed out. Allen Gunther was the winner of the hot air balloon flower basket designed by Joan Mauer­­man. Food and refreshments were enjoyed by all in attendance. It was nice to see Anthony and Eleanor Di Giulio from Punta Gorda, Irene Franko from Port Charlotte, John and Mary Veres from Cooper City and their guest Arline Washenic, and Betty Bar­­tus and her guest Irma Dulo from Cape Coral. Graduation congratulations to Kimberly Damon, who graduated May 7 from Dayton University and to Tim Meehan, who gradu­ated June 4 from Columbiana High School. It was a great occasion, and all enjoyed the affair. Many pictures were taken and a nice buffet luncheon served while everyone reminisced about bygone days.
