Page 6, William Penn Life, October 1993 In Memóriám PAUL VARGA SOUTH BEND, IN — Paul Varga, past president of Branch 132 and a good friend and fráternahst, died on Aug. 20, 1993. Paul served as an officer of Branch 132 for almost 15 years with devotion and dedication until his sight failed and he decided to live with his daughter Edit in Szekesfehervar, Hungary. A soft-spoken, gentle man, Paul guided and helped the branch with the building renovation in the late 1960’s. When the branch held a social event, he was the first one to arrive and usually stayed until we closed up. He always put his best effort into every project, so much so that everyone else had to put forth their best efforts, too. We will miss our good friend, Paul Varga. Please remember him in your prayers. —Frank ). Branch 8164 Steubenville, OH William Penn Branch 8164 resumed its monthly meetings with a Mass at St. Anthony Church celebrated by Msgr. Gene Mullett. The Mass was held in honor of the resumption of CCD classes taught by Sylvia Cassidy, Janet Clause, Marge Rice and Francesca Veltri. The Franciscan Sisters of St. Anthony took part in an instrumental and singing program. After Mass members enjoyed coffee and donuts served by Julia and Angela D’Aurora in the rectory meeting room. President Vincent Lopresto welcomed the members, offered the opening prayer and led all in the pledge of allegiance. Secretary-Treasurer Albert Di Falco brought all up to date with the reading of correspondences and reports. National Director Louis A. Fodor presented a report on all summer and upcoming activities. Our next meeting will be held Sunday, Oct. 3.
