Branch News Continued from Page 3 meal complete with a view of the track from our tables. Some of our guests came away lucky, but all admitted they had a great time. Our next branch event will be a three-day trip to Atlantic City via the DeBolt Bus Company on Oct. 21 to 23. Members and other guests will be staying at the Trump Plaza during this trip. Branch 129 Columbus, OH By Arpad Sibrik Branch 129 Coordinator Our branch held a family picnic Sept. 19 at Jeffreys Park. A sunny, warm day greeted our 150 members and guests. All enjoyed plenty of delicious chicken, brats and hot dogs, a wide variety of covered dishes furnished by our members, and many fine pastries. The food and fraternal fellowship were great, and everyone had a great time. The event included a door prize drawing, making several of the day’s guests extra happy. Our branch will hold its annual family Christmas party on Dec. 12 at the V.F.W. Hall #495 on Princeton Avenue. Invitations for the party will be mailed in early December. We will also hold our annual election of officers on Dec. 9 at Leonardo’s. We hope for a good turnout at this important meeting. For any insurance needs, please call Arpad Sibrik at (614) 231- 8024, or write to 645 S. Kellner Road, Columbus, OH 43209. Branch 159 Phoenixville, PA By Caroline Kovach Branch 159 Reporter Congratulations to each of the new 1992 scholarship recipients. Work hard and keep your grades up. We are so very proud of all of you, and we always enjoy hearing from you. Branch 159 officers are busy preparing for our annual Christmas party. Invitations will be sent soon to each of our members age 16 and under. We are also busy forming our bowling teams for the 50th Annual National Bowling Tournament to be held over the Memorial Day weekend in Pittsburgh. Let us know if you would like to spend a great weekend with us. Our sympathies go to the family of former Branch Manager Frank Ehasz. Frank was a very active fraternalist in the Allentown/Bethlehem area for many years. Many of our older members in the Phoenixville area were also acquainted with him. For any questions regarding your insurance coverage, please contact Bill Kovach at any time. Phone 933-8391. Please remember to support our Association’s scholarship fund. Branch 249 Dayton, OH By Anne Marie Schmidt Branch 249 Secretary Regular branch meetings resumed on Oct. 3 at St. Stephen’s Church hall after a summer break. If you are interested in joining a team, please contact Steve Horvath at 434- 4239. Plans are being formulated for the 1992 Christmas party which will be held Dec. 12 at St. Stephen’s Church hall. A very special evening is promised with good food, entertainment and fraternalism. Raffle tickets are being printed and will be distributed for the Christmas party raffle. Congratulations to Mrs. Albert Kertesz and all those who assist her with the "Music of Hungary” program on a successful fundraiser for WQRP Radio. Sincere thanks and appreciation go out to all who support the continuation of this wonderful program. For your insurance needs and questions, please contact our local agent William R. Sipe at 439-1242. Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Church hall. All are invited to attend. Branch 800 Altoona, PA By Vincent Frank Branch 800 President The branch’s annual memorial Mass for our deceased members will be held Thanksgiving Day at 10:00 a.m. at St. Leo’s Church, Altoona. Our records show that our branch has continued this spiritual practice every year since 1937. Something to think about. It would be wonderful to see at least one family member of each of our deceased members join us for this annual affair honoring our beloved brothers and sisters. On Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. our branch will meet to nominate and elect officers for 1993. Please try to attend this important meeting and nominate those persons who you think would help our society. Branch 800 members and their families should mark Dec. 6 on their calendars, for that’s the date for our annual Christmas party. The party will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the social hall of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Altoona. Deadline for reservation is Wednesday, Dec. 2. To make your reservations, call Vincent Frank at 695-0213. The Rev. Raymond G. Crosser, newly appointed pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, has agreed to be the new spiritual director of Branch 800. It’s a pleasure to have Father Crosser join us in this capacity. Thank you, Father Crosser, for being a part of our branch. For your insurance needs, call Branch Coordinator-Treasurer Robert Jones at 942-2661.
