EMERY HERMITAGE, PA — The members of Branch 26 Sharon, Pa., and many members throughout our society, were saddened by the recent death of Branch 26 Coordinator Stephen J. Emery. Mr. Emery, 73, died at his home on July 26, 1992. Mr. Emery was born Sept. 23, 1918, in Goff, Pa., a son of the late Stephen J. and Elizabeth Kurutz Emery. He retired in 1980 from the former Sharon Transformer Division, Westinghouse Electric Corporation, where he had been a fitter/welder. He was a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Farrell, Sharon Council 684 of the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree Assembly 960 of the Knights of Columbus, the Hungarian Home in Youngstown, Ohio, the Westinghouse Clerks Association and the American Association of Retired Persons. Mr. Emery served Branch 26 with loyalty and dedication for many years and represented his branch as a delegate to the last three General Conventions of the Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary B. Vargo, and two brothers, Joseph and Martin. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Deborah) Chewar of Albany, N.Y., and Victoria Emery of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two sons, Stephen of San Dimas, Calif., and Edward of Hermitage; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Elizabeth) Cangemi and Irene Aranyos, both of Detroit; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Burial was in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Hermitage. May he rest in peace. REV. LOUIS E. ILLÉS DUQUESNE, PA — The entire Association and Hungarians throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania were saddened by the recent death of the Rev. Louis E. Illés, pastor of the Hungarian Reformed Church in Duquesne and chaplain of the William Penn Association. Rev. Illés, 66, died Aug. 8, 1992, in McKeesport (Pa.) Hospital. He was born April 12,1926, in Budapest, Hungary. He was a member of the Hungarian Reformed Ministers Association, the Duquesne Clergy Association and Branch 71 Duquesne of the William Penn. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Horvath Hies; a daughter, Esther Barnes of Reno, Nev.; a sister, Pearl Apjok of Hungary; two grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. Burial was in the Hungarian Reformed Church cemetery in Duquesne. May he rest in peace.
