Branch 132 South Bend, IN Our Paprikas Csirke (Chicken Paprikas) dinner held Sunday April 7 was a complete sellout. We express our sincere regrets to anyone who was turned away when they tried to buy tickets at the door. This is one reason why we encourage members to buy their tickets at least one week in advance. The all-volunteer kitchen crew deserves our heartfelt thanks for making a truly super meal. The younger generation pitched in, too. Our thanks to Csaba Vicén, Tommy Bruce and Frank Wukovits 111. They served 201 dinners, and we’re proud of them. Branch 352 Coraopolis, PA By Dianne A. Charles Branch 352 Reporter Congratulations to Branch President George S. Branch 800 Altoona, PA By Vincent Frank Branch 800 President Our branch’s recent communion breakfast was fairly well attended. Fathers John Newgebauer and Kenneth Greiner concelebrated the Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. At our May branch meeting we will hold our delegate district delegate election meeting, during which we will elect one delegate to represent our branch at the Branch News 32nd General Convention. The Convention will be held in Pittsburgh Sept. 9 to 11. We extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Clementine Glashäuser, sister of active branch member Leo Long. She passed away at Mercy Hospital in Altoona at age 89. She was a faithful member of the ladies auxiliary. May she rest in peace. Two of our branch members, David Greiner and his brother Daniel, 18-and 13-year members respectively, have become eucharistic ministers at Sacred Heart Church in Altoona. Both are to be congratulated for rendering service to the church. We hope all mothers enjoyed a happy Mother’s Day. It has been repeated over and over again, but what would we do without mothers. You mothers hold your families together. Memorial Day will be celebrated on May 27. On this day remember in your prayers all the soldiers of past wars, both men and women, who gave their lives so that we can enjoy our freedom. Also, don’t forget all our loved ones who have departed from this life. If you have any news to be published in the William Penn Life, please call me at 695-0213. Branch 8121 St. Marys, PA By Margaret Marconi Branch 8121 Secretary We had a very good turnout for our Communion Mass and breakfast held Sunday, April 21. Mass was celebrated at St. Marys Church and breakfast was shared at the Franklin Hotel. Arrangements for our Communion Mass and breakfast for 1992 were made at our business meeting held May 1 at St. Marys Parochial Grade School. We also received cards which we will send to residents at the William Penn Home and to our own members for birthdays. At our April 3 meeting we received thanks from Sally Paloubet from the William Penn Home for the Valentine’s Day cards and Easter favors and candy we sent the residents. We also said prayers for Joseph Bohenreith, a very active member who spent many hours visiting the ill. We will miss him. Branch 8155 Enhaut/Steelton, PA At the April 3 meeting of Branch 8155, Branch President Steve Sipos reported that our branch sold all of its 25 tickets for the free trip to Hungary. Six members of our branch are planning to attend the national golf tournament in July. We hope one of them brings home that new car. Our May 1 meeting will be our last meeting until September.
