The Pittsburgh date is part of the choir’s two-week tour of schools in the United States. The tour was arranged after the choir was invited to perform at the Music Educators National Conference in Washington, D.C. The Cantemus Children’s Choir is comprised of young musicians ages 12 to 14. They participate regularly in Hungary’s choir festivals and often perform in Budapest it the invitation of the National Philharmony. They have performed throughout Eastern Europe and have made numerous recordings for both Hungarian radio and television. The exact location and time of the Pittsburgh performance will be determined soon. For more details, call the William Penn at (412)231-2979. Those who miss the choir during its April tour will have a second chance to hear them during Cantemus’ return engagement in late May. During this second tour, the choir will be accompanied by the Piccoli Archi Orchestra from Nyíregháza. This special tour of the choir and orchestra is being held to raise funds to help improve medical conditions in Hungary, particularly in the Szabolcs-Szatmar region. Box 438 New Brunswick, NJ 08903 The Furedys have been overwhelmed by the emotional and financial support given to them by William Penn members following George’s stroke in September. The stroke left him paralyzed in his right arm and leg. With George unable to work Letter to the Editor Get well wishes touch manager I want to thank all of the very nice people who wrote to me and called to wish me well and a speedy recovery. I am on the road to recovery and am anxious to get back to work. Fraternally yours, and his family able to find only low-paying work, the Furedys were struggling to survive in their new homeland. As they have many times in the past, William Penn members responded to a call for help from their fellow Hungarians in need. As of Feb. 20, a total of $1,420 had been donated to the Association’s George Furedy Family Fund, with all of the money going to help the Furedys meet their living expenses. "The Furedys are deeply touched by the generosity of our members,” said Nick Gulacsi, Columbus agency manager and a friend of the Furedys. "They want all of you to know that they appreciate the concern you have shown them and the support you have given them.” While the generosity of our members has helped the family immensely, the need for more help still exists. If you would like to help the Furedys, please send your contributions, payable to "William Penn Association,” to: George Furedy Family Fund William Penn Association 709 Brighton Road Pittsburgh, PA 15233 EMPLOYMENT NOTICE OFFICE POSITIONS AVAILABLE The William Penn Association has positions available at its Home Office for qualified and interested persons.
