Since 1950, he has been very active in the frat­ernal affairs of Branch 189, serv­ing as branch president for 20 years and as branch manager, auditor and secretary-treasurer. Mr. Duruttya wishes to thank all the members and officers who supported him through his 39 years of service to Branch 189. Branch 226 McKeesport, PA Dr. and Mrs. Robert Turkoly- Joczik, along with their sons Gordon and Mark, attended one of the Inaugural Balls honoring President Bush. The Turkoly- Jocziks, formerly of Greensburg, Pa., reside in Charleston, S.C. and are members of Branch 226. Dr. Turkoly-Joczik returned from his duties as a member of the Middle East treaty verifica­tion team in Egypt to attend the week-long inaugural activities. Gordon and Mark are cadets at the Citadel. Branch 296 Springdale, PA By Pat Balia Branch 296 Reporter William Penn Branch 296 will begin its schedule of spring activi­ties with the annual Spring Din­ner-Dance being held Sunday, April 16, at Arpad’s Colonial Manor. Then, our branch members will participate in the National Bowling Tournament and Schol­arship Days to be held May 26 to 28 at the Hilton Hotel in down­town Pittsburgh. Also, our branch will sponsor a child to attend the William Penn Computer Camp to be held July 16 to 22 at Penn’s Scenic View in Trent, Pa. If your child or grandchild is a member of Branch 296 and is in Welcome To Our Fraternal Family We happily present for your enjoyment more of our newest William Penn Association members. Branch 590 Cape Coral, FL By Irene E. Sabo Branch 590 Reporter Branch 590 held its first regular meeting of 1989 on March 5. Newly-elected President Irene Redden opened the meeting, wel­coming members and guests. Visitors present included Wil­liam and Ethel Becze. Mr. Becze is president of the Port Charlotte (Ha.) Hungarian Club. Also join­ing us were Anthony and Eliza­beth Vincent from New Jersey. During our business meeting, our members voted to have a combined meeting and picnic on May 21. The location for the picnic will be announced soon. All William Penn members are invited to attend this picnic. Mr. Becze spoke about the Port Charlotte Hungarian Club picnic to be held April 30 at the Harbot Heights Recreation Park in Port Charlotte. He invited all William Penn members of Branch 590 to attend. We are eagerly awaiting this picnic and hope to see many of our branch members there. Our next regular branch meet­ing will be held May 21. All members are urged to attend. Remember, this is your fraternal organization. Please come and support your branch. Branch 8057 Verona, PA By Betty Tuccillo Branch 8057 Secretary Due to bad weather, our March meeting was cancelled. Our next branch meeting will be held Wed­nesday, April 12, at noon at St. Joseph’s Activity Hall, Verona. There will be a social following the business portion of the meet­ing. We hope to see all our members there. Our branch was saddened by the recent death of longtime member Rose Cinefre. We all miss her. May she and all our departed members rest in peace. Several members are fighting "the bug.” We wish them all a speedy recovery and hope to see them at our next meeting. We also wish to extend Happy Birthday greetings to Margaret Bruno, Ted La Rosa and John Dasta. May you all enjoy many happy returns.
