The children’s Christmas party was held Dec. 20 with 80 children in attendance. Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived and greeted the children with a big "Ho, Ho, Ho! Merry Christmas children!” "Oh”, said Santa, "we must not forget to say Merry Christmas to all the moms and dads, and, oh yes, to all the grandmothers who make all those goodies for us at Christmas time!” Santa asked all the children to please put out some carrots for his reindeer and some of those cookies made by moms and grandmothers for Santa. Santa told the children he wanted to thank Mrs. Claus, for without her help Santa would not be able to get all the gifts ready for the children by Christmas. As Santa talked with the children, he asked all who have been good to please raise their hands. All hands went up but one little boy. Santa asked why he did not raise his hand. The youngster answered, "Well I was good, but I’m not so good today”. After singing Christmas carols and playing games, Santa with Mrs. Claus’ help, gave each child a Christmas stocking filled with goodies. The branch’s board of directors and their wives helped fill the stockings for Santa. Our thanks to Dennis and Suzie Albert for their part in making our children happy by being our Santa and Mrs. Claus. The New Year’s Eve party held at the William Penn Club was a big success.
