Our branch meeting is always held the first Monday of the month. Please try to attend. Well, by now, Thanksgiving is over and Christmas is upon us. We wish you all a wonderful and happy Christmas. May your New Year be a healthy and peaceful one. Branch 19 New Brunswick, NJ By Ruth Vasvary Branch 19 Vice President This holiday season our branch will once again collect canned goods and buy turkeys for distribution to needy families in our area. We ask all our members to help us in this effort. Advisory Board member Michael Hegedűs and his wife Barbara celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 24. We congratulate the happy couple. Ten members and friends represented our branch Nov. 12 at the 75 th Anniversary Gala Ball of the Hungarian American Athletic Club in New Brunswick. It was a night to remember. Our branch meetings are held the first Monday of each month beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Bayard Street Presbyterian Church Hall. Please try to attend our meetings. We need your support. Merry Christmas from Branch 19 to all William Penn members and their families. Branch 22 Roebling, NJ By Jennifer Emri Branch 22 Secretary We are making final plans for our branch Christmas party to be held on Dec. 17. Invitations have been sent to the eligible juvenile members, and we hope all will attend. A plaque of the late John P. Balia, former president of Branch 296, was recently donated to the branch by Anthony Waskiewicz■ Shown here with the plaque are (from left) Ronald Balia, branch president; Ralph Schuller, branch vice president; Elmer Charles, president emeritus of the William Penn; and Stephen G. Danko, national president. A note to grandparents: a paidup policy would make a wonderful Christmas gift for your grandchildren. It is a lasting gift of true value, and it’s so easy to shop for. Also, we have the Hungarian cookbooks available, which make nice gifts and are very handy for your own holiday baking. We would like to offer our congratulations to the Roebling Hungarian Reformed Church which is celebrating its 75 th anniversary this year. Our branch meetings are now held on the third Tuesday of each month at the Roebling Rescue Squad Building beginning at 7:00 p.m. Every member of the branch is welcome. God’s Love, Peace and Blessings to all for a wonderful Christmas Season. Branch 28 Youngstown, OH By Helen Kaluczky Branch 28 Reporter More than ever, now is the time for all good men, women and children to come to Branch 28’s Christmas party, which will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at the American Hungarian Club on Donald Avenue. All the juvenile members of Branch 28, as well as their parents and grandparents, are invited to attend. The annual election of branch officers will be held following the party. We do hope you will come to this meeting and make your voice heard. Our present officers — President Steve Sándor, Vice President Steve Novak, Secretary-Treasurer Irene Nemeth, and Auditors Kay Novak, John Kaluczky and Frank Schauer — are doing an outstanding job, but they would like to hear it from our branch members once in a while. So, please come and join us on Dec. 10. The party will feature gifts and refreshments, a sing-along, a visit from Santa Claus, Mrs. Clown and entertainment all through the courtesy of the William Penn Association (Thank You). We had a great time at the St. Stephen of Hungary Harvest Dance held Nov. 5. We met some beautiful people from Pulaski, Sharpsville and Sharon, and our own Louis Fodor, chairman of the National Auditing Committee. It is always a pleasure to see Mr. Fodor. May he continue in good health. Needless to say, Branch 28 was well represented at the dance: Ed Gabrick (chairman of the dance committee), the Dankovichs, Novaks, Sandors, Toroks, Sakasits, Bodnars, Checks, Margaret Shaffron and George Gregosits were all there. If I have missed naming any William Penn members who were there, I extend to you my sincere apologies. We wish you all a blessed and safe Christmas and New Year, and a fervent hope that our wonderful country will remain at peace in the coming years. All of the important issues of the day pale in comparison to preserving peace in our cities, in oür states, in our beautiful United States and in the world.
