No valley’s so dark That we can’t find the day, One step at a time, When He’s leading the way. With sympathy ... And a special prayer that God’s loving presence will bring you comfort. Lippert Branch 705 Coordinator With the sounds of Canadian geese flying over the club grounds on their annual trek to the Horizon Wildlife Refuge, the Mayville Gun Club concluded another year of league trapshooting. Looking forward to April, 20 weeks seems like a long time. Looking back to September, time seems to have passed too quickly. Branch 705, as it has for the last eight years, had almost perfect attendance. Considering family obligations, vacations and summer schedules, the William Penn team has a dedicated interest in the true fraternal spirit. The team roster has remained the same throughout the years. Mike Wald drives from Jackson every Tuesday night, a distance of about 30 miles. His brother Steve lives in Iron Ridge, a distance of about 15 miles. Wayne and Darlene Wagner are raising their young family in West Bend, about 30 miles away. Jack Lippert is the only team member living in Mayville. The team got off to a very slow start in 1988, but recovered nicely in the latter weeks to win Division III, the third of four divisions. The team average for the year amounted to 21.25 out of 25. Individual high gun was Jack Lippert at 22.57, with Wayne Wagner close behind at 22.47. This contest between members was not decided until the last shoot and was settled by a difference of only two targets. The date for the team dinner has yet to be set. Each member will receive a trophy at that time. Also, the name of National Director Elmer W. Toth was inadvertently omitted from the roll call of those who attended the June 1988 Board meeting.
