Here is what cruise participants can expect at each tropical port we’ll visit: Curacao: W alk along the popu­lar shopping promenades in this tropical fragment of Holland, one of the most cosmopolitan islands in the Caribbean. Curacao’s pas­tel-tinted houses with their Dutch architecture are a unique contrast to the native cactus brush and the windswept divi divi trees. The optional City Island tour takes you through the colonial man­sions of Chobolobo and Brieven­­gat, and panoramic Table Moun­tain, where on a clear day you can see Venezuela, 35 miles away. Caracas: You’ll have your first taste of South America when your ship docks at LaGuaira, the gateway to Caracas, Venezuela. Relax on the beach in front of the beautiful resort hotels or join the optional Grand Tour of Caracas, the "City of Eternal Spring” and the birthplace of Simon Bolivar, the "Great Liberator.” Caracas is a sophisticated blend of both modern and Spanish Colonial architecture. Grenada: Aptly called the Spice Island, Grenada boasts one of the Caribbean’s most picturesque harbors, St. George’s. Beyond its blue inner lagoon, the port town offers shoppers an abundance of local arts and crafts and a market­place filled with fresh spices. On the optional tour of Ridge Beach Drive, you’ll discover lush green valleys and endless stretches of powdery beaches that make Gren­ada a paradise found. Martinique: Discovered by Columbus, the "Island of Flow­ers” is an enchanting mix of French influence and native hos­pitality. On the optional Kon Tiki tour, you’ll climb aboard a glass-bottomed boat, where you can dance the Limbo, sip rum punch, and explore colorful trop­ical reefs, stunning black sand beaches and St. Pierre, the Pom­peii of the modern world. St. Thomas: The Caribbean am­biance of St. Thomas is intoxicat­ing. Its dense rain forest, brilliant white beaches and crystal-dear water alive with colorful fish are natural attractions. On the op­tional Skyline Drive tour, you’ll visit Bluebeard’s Castle, the quaint settlement of "Cha-Cha Town,” and the port, Charlotte Amalie, where you’ll find a duty­free cornucopia of imported wat­ches, jewelry, fine crystal and cases of liquor. San Juan: This sprawling capital of Puerto Rico contains both glass-and-steel high rises and the ancient ruins of the Spanish em­pire. You can tour the magnifi­cent fort El Morro, which for more than four centuries served as the city’s primary defense, catch the action in the nightclubs and casinos, or explore the world­­renowned El Yunque rain forest. CarlaCosta enhances tropical vacation with varied activities and Italian tiavor The CarlaCosta sets sail from San Juan, deep in the Caribbean, and takes you to the southernmost ports of this tropical playground. From San Juan you’ll sail first to Curacao and its shopping paradise. Next, you’ll visit glamour, cosmopolitan Caracas. Then its on to Grenada’s picturesque harbor, the tropical reefs of Martinique and beautiful St. Thomas. Cruise------­need.
