To help you prevent this from ever happening to you, the Wil­liam Penn Association offers these auto theft prevention tips furnished by the Insurance Feder­ation of Pennsylvania Inc.: 1. Support legislation that aims to curb auto theft. 2. Take your keys. .3. Lock your car. 4. Park in well-lighted areas. 5. Install a burglar alarm. 6. Don’t put the alarm decal on your car. 7. Install a seconday ignition switch. 8. Park with your wheels turn­ed toward the curb. 9. Remove coil wire from dis­tributor cap. 10. Replace "T” shaped door locks with straight locks. 11. Use your steering wheel lock. 12. Don’t let a potential buyer test drive alone. 17. Install an armoured collar around the steering column to cover the ignition. 18. Activate burglar alarm or anti-theft device when parking. 19. With front-wheel drive, pull on emergency brake and put into park. 20. Back your car into your driveway. 21. If you have a garage, use it. 22. Lock your garage door. 23. Lock your car when it’s in the garage. 24. Install a special anti-theft device you’ve created. 25. Remove rotor from distri­butor. 26. Install a fuel shut-off device. 27.
