Branch 226 McKeesport News Continued from page 7 column 3 We had the largest attendance to date at our Christmas Family Party, both adults and children, and were most happy to welcome a good representation from the St. Mary’s Branch of the Catholic Knights of St. George, who are now members of the William Penn Association. Branch 226 and Branch 8099 really got together and a good relationship was established which should prove fruitful in the future. The success of our Family Christmas Party was due to the untiring efforts and dedication of our Committee and helpers. Many thanks to National President, John Sabo and his wife Ethel; National Vice President and Counsel Gay B. Banes, Santa Claus Louis L. Siebert; Edward Rietski, who served as our photographer, Violet Lenart, Barbara Botkin, and wonderful Branch members who pitched in to help — Bette Hoffman, Irene Grebur, Kerrie Budnick, Helen Wagner, Helen and Frank Domencic, Lester and Barbara Botkin, and Alexander Goydan. Our deep appreciation to the Home Office for their generous contribution toward the success of not only the Christmas Parties, but all Branch activities. At this Holiday Season, may we at Branch 226, extend the Season’s Greetings in a warm and friendly way for a New Year abundant with prosperity, good health, and immeasurable happiness to all members of our Association. Violet B. Lenart Publicity By Agnes Paek Branch 8021 Pittsburgh Branch 8021 recently held an “Ushers Recognition Day” with a mass, followed by a brunch in the church social hall. The program was in keeping with the Branch’s activities in church, both spiritually and financially. Each of the ushers was presented with a framed certificate for dedicated service. With the District organization, we enjoyed a Christmas party with residents at St. Joseph’s House of Hospitality. Each of them was presented with a gift, treats and refreshments. And the Branch also enjoyed its own party and was privileged to have Pastor William Housen in attendance. President William Donner and other branch officers pledge their full support to the William Penn Association in the year ahead and extend best wishes to everyone for a healthy and prosperous year. Anyám Zsoltárt Énekel. Egy, szép fehérhaju éjszaka váratlan érkeztem haza, Hókucsmás házunk nem aludt, pislogva leste a kaput, Mintha csak Ö is várna rám, és arany hidat vert alám, És arany hidon mentem én házunknak fehér szőnyegén, Mig egy hang az éjbe kelt, anyám benn zsoltárt énekelt . . . Üvegen szűrve szállt a daj, és átölelt, mint drága kar, S üvegen szűrve néztem Öt, álltam, mint oltárkép előtt. Leánykorában, hajdanán lehetett ilyne szép talán, Még a szivem is félve vert — Anyám benn zsoltárt énekelt . . . Körülállták a bútorok úrnőjüket, mint múlt idők hü cselédei Ámultak el a verseken, nem lélekzett az óra sem, S a lámpa halkan szórta le sugarát, mely mindent átitat, S a dal mint drága áhitat, repült . . . repült . . . Azóta hány év letelt hogy énekelt, de mintha most is hallanám, Az éjben énekel anyám, kották szövegével ver hidat, Azon jön át és úgy sirat, Így látogatja meg fiát, Kottából szőve bibliát, mig Isten ott fenn, valahol, Meghallja egyszer, lehajol, és karján viszi az égbe fel, Amint épp zsoltárt énekel. 1984 Christmas Party at the Main Office. 10 Poem by Tollas Tibor.
