Continued from page 5, column 1 President’s Column Single Premium Deferred Annuity Deposit $1,000, $5,000, $10,000 or more. The amount deposited will earn at the current rate 10.50% annually until the retirement age of your choice, such as 55, 65, etc. At that age, a Single Premium Immediate Annuity will be issued under any one of our payout periods. How IRA Works If you are single, you can deposit up to $2,000 each year, tax deductible. If you are married and if you and your spouse work, you can deposit up to $2,000 for a total of $4,000 per year. If you are married and your spouse does not work, you can deposit up to $2,250 per year. This program permits you to defer Federal Income taxes on your earnings (deposits) and also defer taxes on the interest earned. You can begin to withdraw your money anytime between the ages of 59V2 and 70V2. At that time, of course, you must pay the federal tax but since you are likely to be in a lower tax bracket, you can expect the tax to be considerably less. For a child age 0, $300.00 invested each year for 21 years, the amount deposited plus interest earned (based on current rate of 10.50%), the total amount accumulated at age 21 will be $22,541.02. This should help considerably in paying for the child’s education. For a child age 0, $1,000.00 deposited each year for 21 years plus interest earned (based on current rate of 10.50%), the total accumulated at age 21 will amount to $75,136.73. Your child’s future is really enhanced with a fine education. For those who are more interested in adding to their retirement programs, at age 30, $1,000 deposited yearly at the current rate of 10.50% interest will accumulate at age 65, a grand total of $336,095.47. This amount, depending on the prevailing rate of payout interest in the year in which t(ne member reaches age 65, say 10%, based on 10 years Certain and Life, a male member could expect a monthly annuity of $3,387.84 during the remainder of his lifetime. If the member dies before receiving 120 monthly payments (10 years certain), the balance of the annuity amount for the 10 years will be paid to his designated beneficiary. If the annuitant were a female, using the same 10 Year Certain and Life option, using 10% payout interest, the monthly annuity would be $3,223.15. Those who are interested in the IRA program or any of our other retirement plans, should contact Dan Wahl or Ron Abels at 709 Brighton Road, Pittsburgh, Pa., 15233 or call Dan Wahl at 412-231-7500 or Ron Abels at 412-231-2979.
