WEST MIFFLIN, PA — Pittsburgh Branch 34, Duquesne Branch 71 and Homestead Branch 89 joined in sponsoring the annual Christmas party for family and children of branch members at the Homeville Fire Hall. Each year attendance continues to surpass that of previous years and this time it was no exception. It was especially gratifying to see so many youngsters with their parents and grandparents reflecting the true meaning of fraternalism. As the children entered the party hall, they were greeted by Mrs. Donna Nagy, branch manager of Duquesne. Her children, Sara and Gregg were there to lend her an assist. Elmer Toth, a national director, extended a warm welcome to the various members and guests. He introduced various Branch officers, including Michael Kara, president of Branch 34 and a national auditor; Branch Manager John Tusai, National Director; President of Branch 71 Roger Nagy, and John S. Toth Sr., president of Branch 89, Homestead. Others recognized by Toth were Gus G. Nagy, national secretary, and Mrs. Nagy; William C. Kohut, national director; Frances Furedy, administrative assistant to National President John Sabo; and Elmer Furedy, president of Branches 29, 163 and 352. The program began with singing of Christmas carols, followed by entertainment by Charles Holden and his puppets and marionettes. Santa then made his appearance amidst a tremendous cheer from children of all ages. He distributed a box of candy and gift to each of the children and a box of candy to each adult. An appetizing buffet was served and those in charge of that phase of the program included Elaine Toth, Ann Walick, Lisa Toth, Ruth Toth, Zita Kara, Donna Nagy, Ann Kobus, John Tusai, Michael Kara, Lou Kobus and John Toth Jr. The role of Santa was played superbly by John Toth Sr. Party greeters included Mrs. Donna Nagy and Sara Nagy.
