Dates for meetings in 1986 were selected. The branch will meet at the home of the branch manager, Anthony Noel, on Feb. 23 at 3 p.m., on May 26 at 4 p.m., and on Sept. 7 at 4 p.m. and on Nov. 2 at 3 p.m. A Christmas party will be held Friday, Dec. 13 at the German- American Social Club, Von Steuben Hall, in Cape Coral on Pine Island Road. Dinner will be at 5 p.m., concert entertainment from 8 to 9 and dancing until 11:30. All former Verhovay, Rákóczi and St. George Frater­nal organization members in good standing, who are now members of Branch 590, are encouraged to attend. Christ Lutheran Church of Cape Coral is sponsoring a Hungarian refugee family with two young school-age children ages 8 and 16. We are in need of three, or four Hungarian- English and English-Hungarian dictionaries. The William Penn team posted a record year of 15 wins against just five defeats to win Division III of the annual summer league shooting at the Mayville, Wisconsin Gun Club. The high team gun award was given to Jack Lippert with a 22.94 average out of a possi­ble 25 targets per shoot. This was followed closely by Wayne Wagner’s 22.68 and Mike Wald’s 22.30. The yearly atten­dance at all events was perfect with all shooters present on the line at tfieir scheduled times. BRANCH 129 Columbus, Ohio By AL BARTFAY Over 100 Branch 129 members, friends, and guests joined together on Sunday, September 22, at the Hungarian church in Columbus to honor 25 branch members who have been members of William Penn for 50 or more years, but had not yet received their 50 year pins. The honorees who attended were George Tokár, John Gaál, Krisztina Szabó, Elizabeth Géc­­zi, and Anne Joseph. The oldest honoree in attendance was 84 year old Elizabeth Géczi who came from a nursing home to be there. Anne Joseph, who attended with her husband from Cleveland, was the honoree who travelled the most miles to attend. Other honorees were: Frank Kövér, William Vince, Irene Simon, Elizabeth Simon, Steven Csubak, Rose Golub, Elizabeth Gulyás, Victor Fabbro, Alex Sepos, Anne White, Mary Dunlap, James Tankovich, John Tóth, Steve Moore, John Moore Jr., Joseph Kavalyecz, Margaret Pirik, Priscilla Weaver, Frank Toki, Suzanne Finta, Anthony Powers. National President John Sabo was represented at the Columbus dinner by National Fraternal Director John Tusai, who came from the home office in Pittsburgh. John spoke to the group about the Hungarian heritage of the Association and awarded 50 year pins to the honorees who were present. National Board of Directors member Albert Kertész of Dayton spoke of the growth of the Association, which is the oldest and largest fraternal association founded by Hungarian immigrants. Every­one enjoyed the Magyar menu, prepared and served by the Women’s Guild of the Hungarian church. In addition, to the csirke leves, which tasted The William Penn team this year was a double winner. In addition to a trophy, many hours of fine fellowship was en­joyed in the true fraternal spirit.
