Furedy Wildwood A highlight of the evening was the auction raffle of a golf bag filled with golf woods and irons valued at $1,100. Fourteen dinner guests' names were drawn randomly and became eligible to win the valuable prize with audience participants then offering to buy their chance to win. Slowly, each of the fourteen was eliminated and Chairman of the Board Stephen G. Danko was the lucky winner of the golf clubs and bag. In addition to the centerpieces, 30 door prizes were given out to dinner guests, including one carryall, three putters, five sets of headcovers, two shag bags, nine golf towels and 10 golf shirts. President John Sabo brought the evening to a close congratulating the tournament committee on a suc­cessful endeavor and thanking the Board of Directors for sponsoring a worthwhile fraternal event. Mount St. George Family Carnival 1984 The William Penn Association sponsored the 62nd Annual Carnival at Mount St. George on July 22, 1 984, under the direction of John F. Kenawell, Executive Vice President. L. to R.: Homo Office Staff Members John F. Kenawell, Executive Vice President; Vivian Findon, Executive Staff Secretary; Ron Abels, National Sales Director; Gay B. Banes, Vice President and General Counsel; Peter C. Kuhn, Carnival Planner. Joseph Schmidt, Pittsburgh District Chairman, was the General Chairman. Carnival Planner was Pete Kuhn, retired Vice President of the former Catholic Knights of St. George. Carnival Co-ordinator was Anthony Filberto, County Clerk of Brooks County, and Carnival Treasurer was Fred Maitz, Assistant Treasurer of the Association. Festivities began with a Field Mass. Concelebrants were Rev. L. to R.: Steve Danko, Les Botkin, Mike Duruttya, President Branch 189. Mike con­gratulates Steve on being the winner of the golf clubs that were auctioned at the dinner. Mel Heintel, OFM, Cap. Michael O'Brien served as Lector. Norb Clair, President Branch 8222 Wilkinsburg, served as Eucharistic Minister. Music was provided by David Bor­dás. The following gifts were presented: the American flag from Congressman Mollahan's office representing our American heritage and love of country; a publication representing the communication be­tween our Society and our member­ship throughout the various states; a craft item made for the residents of our Home as a sign of their sharing in our community; a prize item denoting the fellowship of our Car­nival; a red rose representing respect for all life; a rosary representing the. dedication of our sisters who have served our Society since 1923. The swimming pool was open and was enjoyed by the children as well as the adults, throughout the day. Approximately 500 barbecued chicken dinners, prepared by the Kiwanis Club, were served by Tony L. to R.: John F. Kenawell, Executive Vice President; Albert Stelkovics, Vice President; Gay B.
