Wukovits, Sr., President of Branch 132 at the celebration. 41st National Bowling Tournament and Scholarship Days After an interim of 22 years, the city of Columbus, Ohio, was again the scene of our 1984 National Bowling Tournament, sponsored by the Association and hosted by the Officers and members of Branch 129. The beautiful weekend festivities of May 25-27 was headquartered in the newly opened "Hyatt on Capitol Square", executive style hotel. Their young, yet experienced staff are to be commended for the professional and cooperative action in every detail extended to make our annual affair most successful and one that will be remembered as among the best ever. The William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation, Inc. held its annual meeting on Friday evening. An excellent turnout attended the meeting. Introduced as a new member of the Board of Associates, which has been redesignated as the Louis L. Varga Scholars Guild, was the host, Branch 129, represented by its President, Mr. George Tokár. We sincerely hope this example will encourage other branches of our Association to become members of the Louis L. Varga Scholars Guild by pledging a donation of $1,000.00 to be paid within a four-year period. Also on Friday evening, the Hospitality Room with members of the local branch providing the manpower was truly a hub of activity. Saturday morning, it was "Let's get down to serious business time," as we arrived via the Cota Buses at the "Columbus Square Bowling Palace,” located in the Columbus Square Shopping Center. The lanes opened in November 1 983 and are (Continued on Page 7) The South Bend and vicinity William Penn members are celebrating Branch 132's 75th Anniversary. A large gathering participated at a banquet held on Saturday, April 28, 1984 at the William Penn Hall. The Branch was honored with out of town dignitaries, including William Penn Association, National President, Mr. John Sabo; National Vice President, Mr. Albert J. Stelkovics and Mrs. Stelkovics; Chairman of the Board, Mr. Stephen G. Danko and Mrs. Danko; National Directors, Mr. Joseph Arvay, Mr. Zoltán Emri, Mr. Stephen Ivancso and Mrs. Ivancso, Mr. Albert G. Kertesz and Mrs. Kertesz; Advisory Board member, Mr. Stephen Danko and Mrs. Danko. The festivities started with cocktails being served at 6:00 P.M. The program opened with the singing of our National Anthem, led by Mrs. Helen Wituski. Invocation was given by Rev. Msgr. John S. Sabo, P.A., followed by a traditional Hungarian dinner being served. President, Frank J. Wukovits, Sr., welcomed the guests and expressed a most sincere appreciation to the National Officers and the Members of the Board of Directors who came from different parts of the country to help us in our celebration. He paid tribute to the past officers and members of the branch who through their spirit of unselfish love and dedication to fraternalism made it possible to reach this memorable occasion. He also thanked the members of the various committees who worked so hard, along with our patrons and contributors who helpe us in many ways. (Continued on Page 2)
