Branch 14 Cleveland, Ohio Dr. Maryellen Amato and Dr. Henry Stratman were united in marriage on May 12 at Our Lady of Peace Church in Cleveland, Ohio. Reverend Anthony Zepp, Pastor, performed the double ring ceremony and celebrated a nuptial Mass. Dr. Henry Stratman and Maryellen Maryellen’s parents are Sam and Betty Amato of 2792 East 125th Street, Cleveland, Ohio and Henry is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stratman of St. Louis, Missouri. The bridesmaids were Dr. Patricia Amato, sister of the bride and Dr. Theresa Vogel of Baltimore, Maryland. The reception was held at Sherwins Party Center on Mayfield Road and fine Hungarian music was played by the Frank Borisz Orchestra. Maryellen is a radiologist at Barnes Hospital and Henry is a cardiologist at Veterans Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Our dear friend and brother Steve Szabó passed away recently and is greatly missed by all who knew him. The branch meetings are held at Our Lady of Hungary Church every 4th Sunday of the month at 2:00 P.M. A special appeal is being made by the branch officers to all the membership to support the branch by attending the meetings. This is a good time to socialize and also being kept informed of the latest happenings within the branch. Leslie A. Wash Secretary-T reasurer Branch 28 Youngstown, Ohio Branch 48 New York, New York Just a reminder about Michael Szabó, who was an active charter member of the Munkás Betegsegito Egylet of Manhattan, New York until his death in 1950. He was born in Eger, Megye, Hungary on July 10, 1882 and like a few others, pioneered the great William Penn Association as it is today. Branch 89 Homestead, Pennsylvania Keith S. Toth, son of Director and Mrs. Elmer W. Toth of Munhall, PA, was recently appointed to the faculty of the School of Music of the Western Connecticut State University in Dan­bury, Conn. Keith will teach organ, harpischord, and performance practice at the University and will supervise the university’s new Bachelor of Music in Harpsichord Performance program. KEITH TOTH Both Maryellen and her sister Patricia are members of Branch 14, Cleveland, Ohio. Here’s wishing the bride and bridegroom the best of happiness throughout their married life. Toth is a graduate of the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music in Oberlin, Ohio where he majored in organ, harpsichord, and musicology. Keith is also the Director of Music at the First Congregational Church of Danbury, Conn., a position once held by American composer Charles Ives. As Director of Music for the historic congregation that was founded in 1696, Toth is responsible for the church’s graded choir program, for playing the church’s large historic pipe organ, and for directing the church’s concert series. Keith continues in his career as an organ and harpsichord recitalist throughout the country and will con­tinue his work in New York City where he is active as performer, teacher, and early music coach. Keith is a member of Branch 89 in Homestead, PA and worked at the Home Office in Pittsburgh during the summer of 1982. Branch 51 Passaic, New Jersey Hope all had a very enjoyable sum­mer. It sure went fast. Before we know it that “white stuff” will be coming down. Get those shovels out and the anti-freeze into the car radiators. One of the nice things which will be taking place will be our “Family Christmas Party”. It will be held on Sunday, December 2, 1984 at 3 P.M. at the American-Hungarian Citizens Club, 21 New Schley St., Garfield, N.J. On the same date and place, at 2 P.M., election of Branch 51 officers for 1985 will be held. Please make every effort to attend. An enjoyable afternoon will be had by all. This is a family Christmas party so remember all are welcome. As usual, Santa will stop by and give gifts to our juvenile members and refreshments will be served to all.
