Ron Abels, F.I.C. Named National Sales Director RON ABELS The William Penn Association is proud to announce the promotion of Ron Abels, F.I.C., to National Sales Director. He will be in charge of the sales force now operating in 21 states. Ron joined the William Penn Association in June, 1981 as Agency Manager for Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania. This was to begin the pilot operation for the career agency system. During that time, the Pittsburgh agency grew and made great strides The combined sales results for 1 982 and 1983 were $4,450,000 of life and annuity premium over the two year period. This was accomplished by the fine efforts of 1 0 full time and 10 part-time sales representatives throughout Western Pennsylvania. Ron has been in the insurance field for 1 8 years. During those years, he became a Life Underwriter Training Council graduate; licensed in prop­erty and casualty insurance; a Registered Representative in Securities; a member of the Interna tional Association of Financial Planners; member of the Fraternal In­surance Counselors Association; a Correlator in Financial Planning; Vice President of the F.I.C.'s for Penn­(Continued on Page 7) 41st National Bowling Tournament and Scholarship Days, May 25-27 The William Penn Association Na tional Officers and members of the Board of Directors and Branch 129, Columbus, Ohio, invite you, your family and friends to the 41st Na­tional Bowling Tournament and Scholarship Days, to be held in Co­lumbus, Ohio on Memorial Day weekend, May 25, 26 and 27, 1 984. The Headquarters will be at the new, luxurious Hyatt on Capital Square, Columbus, Ohio. Room rates are $46.00 per night for singles and doubles. The bowling will be at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace, 5707 Forest Hills Boulevard, about 25 minutes from the Hotel. Bowling commences on Saturday morning for team eyents and Sunday morning for singles and doubles. Transportation will be pro­vided between hotel and bowling lanes. The William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation, Inc., will have their Annual Meeting Friday niqht, at 6:00 P.M. in the hotel. On Friday night Branch 129, Co­lumbus, Ohio Committee will host a hospitality room in the hotel at 7:30 P.M. The new Hyatt on Capital Square was selected as the Tournament Headquarters and the Governor's Ballroom was reserved for the Ban­quet on Saturday night, May 27, 1984. Banquet starts at 6:00 P.M. with a cash bar. A prime rib dinner will be served at 7:00 P.M. Dinner cost is $19.00. Music will be pro­vided by George Bátyi and his Gypsy Orchestra. Ballroom is limited to 600 people so make your reservations early. We all look forward to seeing you on this grand occasion in Columbus, Ohio. TOUR TO HUNGARY The William Penn Association and the Vass Travel Agency is conduct­ing a three week tour to Hungary that will leave July 22, 1984 from Detroit, land in Pittsburgh and con­tinue direct to Budapest, Hungary. The plane will arrive in Budapest on July 23. We now have scheduled a six day Transdanubian Tour that will depart from Budapest the morning of the 24th and return on the night of the 29th. The Southern Hungary four day tour will depart Budapest August 9th and return August 1 2th. (Details of tours in the magazine.) Individuals wishing to take one or both tours should complete the Tour Questionnaire and return it to the Vass Travel Agency. The tour cost includes the hotels, meals, transpor­tation and admission charges. Vass Agency will make any other room reservations, so please write or telephone if more information is needed.
