Branch 291 — Youngwood, PA. Branch 291 held a branch picnic, participated in District projects and worked at a parish festival. Branch 321—Windber, PA. Branch 321 will hold a branch Memorial Mass, they worked on cemetery project, participated in Parish Bazaar and Communion breakfast. Branch 326 —Smithton, PA. Branch 326 honored Mary Rechichar on her 100th birthday. They held a bake sale. Will hold an Annual Memorial Mass. They donated $500 toward a tractor. Participated in District and parish activities. Branch 328 —Bridgeport, CT. Branch 328 donated $200 to our Home for the aged in Wellsburg, West Virginia. Picnic for all members and friends held on August 7, 1983 at St. Margaret Mary Grove. Branch 330 —Dundalk, MD. Members of Branch 330 have been reciting the Rosary to the Blessed Mother after Sunday morning Mass at St. Rita’s Church. Branch will host District Conference on Saturday, October 29, 1983. Branch 340 —Dundalk, MD. Branch 340 members have been putting together a booklet concerning the history of their branch, they will observe their 60th anniversary in 1986. The branch donated $500 to St. Rita’s Orphan Fund. Branch 344 —Dundalk, MD. Branch 344 has been sponsoring a softball team for girls in the area. Donated socks and footwarmers to elderly of St. Anthony’s. Made and donated an afghan to Ladies of Charity of Pompeii for Baltimore City Hospital. Branch 369 —Philadelphia, PA. Catholic Knights of St. George, BLUE KNIGHTS BRANCH. The Blue Knights continue to help our camp through their contributions. They held a dinner for 200 Senior Citizens and sponsored a party for needy and disadvantaged children. DISTRICTS Allegheny East District District will sponsor their District Conference on Saturday, October 22, 1983. Activities will include speakers, workshops, panel discussions and a 5 P.M. Mass followed by dinner. Branch 20 McKees Rocks, Pa. Before a large crowd of well wishers, loyal supporters, news media, TV sportscasters and representatives from various organizations, all turned out to honor and congratulate the newly crowned Sto-Rox Viking’s Basketball Bill Arbanas President of Branch 20 making remarks to gathered crowd. Blair County District Held a District Corn Boil Picnic. Participated in the Diocesan Rosary Rally. Held a Mass and dinner to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the District. Plans are being made for their Annual District Christmas Party. State Champions on May 23 at the high school auditorium. Trophies and plaques were presented to the team by school officials and civic and fraternal groups. Our Branch 20 Catholic Knights of St. George McKees Rocks officers and members were present also to honor the state champions. Branch 20 President Bill Arbanas presented a laminated front page of our local paper hailing the victors in behalf of Branch 20. Our Supreme Officers, John Kenawell. Western Pennsylvania Office District News Baltimore District More than 200 members and families attended a Boat Ride sponsored by the District on Friday, September 2, 1983. Pittsburgh District Sponsored afternoon of entertainment for “guests” at our Home in Wellsburg on Sunday, September 18, 1983. Music, dancing and refreshments were enjoyed by all. A picnic for all District members followed this affair. A “fun” weekend was held at the Retreat House in Wellsburg on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 21, 22, and 23, 1983. Memorial Services for deceased members of the District will be held at St. Augustine Church, Sunday, November 20, 1983. Southwest Penn District District picnic held in August. Well attended and enjoyed by all. A “Father Tom Smith” show was well attended on Thursday, September 22, 1983. Proceeds of this event were donated to our Home for the Aged in Wellsburg, West Virginia. District Memorial Service will be held at Holy Cross Church, Youngwood, PA., on Sunday, November 13, 1983. The day’s festivities will start with a Mass at 9 A.M. The Western Pennsylvania Agency of the William Penn Association reached $2 Million Dollars of Premium on July 29, 1983. The totals for the year so far are 917 Sales, $13,248,084 Production and $2,054,466 Premium.
