Activities of the New William Penn Association Branches since the merger of the Catholic Knights of St. George into the William Penn Association Branch 14—Southside, PGH. Branch members participated in annual bazaar for parish during the week of June 12, 1983. Members supported dinner for Father Haney upon his leaving for another assignment. Christmas party for children and grandchildren will be held in December. Branch 19 —Northside, PGH. Branch 19 continues to support its regular branch activities, including pro life and youth activities. Will honor members of choir in November along with Memorial Service. Branch 20 —McKees Rocks, PA. Branch 20 assisted the Knights of St. George Home in Wellsburg, West Virginia in obtaining food donations. They are planning their annual Christmas parties for the residents of our Home and also for Robison Developmental Center. They continue to sponsor programs for the elderly and the handicapped, as well as participating in parish and community projects. Branch 21— Mt. Oliver, PGH. Branch 21 held a special breakfast in honor of St. Joseph’s Church Choir. Held a fund raising project for St. Joseph’s school. Branch 36 —Scottdale, PA. Branch 36 held an Altar Boy Recognition and continues to support the Southwest Penn District activities. Branch 37 —Beaver Falls, PA. Branch 37 held a dinner party to celebrate their 8th Anniversary. They continue to support parish projects, including participating in a fund raising project. Branch 48 —Latrobe, PA. Branch 48 held a dinner in honor of Branch Officers. Among other branch projects, they made a contribution to the Carmelite Nuns. Branch 50 —Etna, PGH. Branch 50 gave a gift to Father Michael J. Polak for his Silver Anniversary. Made plans for a “goofoff weekend” at Mt. St. George. Had a special program and refreshments after meeting in September. Branch 57—Verona, PGH. Branch 57 held recognition for John and Bertha Liberto’s 50th Anniversary. John is Branch Secretary- Treasurer. Donated toward crafts at Knights Home. Branch 73 —Allentown, PA. Branch 73 held a communion breakfast and is planning a Memorial Mass in November. Branch 74 —Hollidaysburg, PA. Branch 74 distributed religious pamphlets to several parishes. Attended Funeral Services for deceased members. Participated in District activities. Branch 75 —Wilkes Barre, PA. Branch 75 continues its regular meetings and support of parish activities. Branch 77 —Bethlehem, PA. Branch 77 held a Communion breakfast for the branch. Participated in parish activities, including the clothing drive, hoagie sale, square dance and Advent breakfast. Branch 85 —Monaca, PA. Branch 85 participated in an annual picnic and held a garage sale to raise funds for their future activities. Branch 95 —Uniontown, PA. Branch 95 held an annual branch picnic, social “get together”, supported activities of Knights Home in Wellsburg and participated in District activities. Branch 99 —McKeesport, PA. Branch 99 is planning to host an Annual District Memorial Mass in November. Refreshments will be served after Mass. Branch members are participating in parish quilt project. Branch members serve local hospital through craft projects. They obtained gym equipment for Auberle Home for Boys. They continually participate in a lunch program for the needy. The (one) who does not read good books has no advantage over the one who can’t read them. — Mark Twain Branch 103 —Altoona, PA. Branch 103 along with being strong supporters of District projects and parish activities, the branch attends to the physical and spiritual welfare of its members through visitations, prayers and Masses. Branch 113 —Lucinda, PA. Branch 113 supports District and parish activities, including projects for the parish school and Altar Boy fund. Branch 114 —Clarion, PA. Branch 114 held a Gun Raffle and Annual Steak Fry. They participated in parish picnic, garage sale and work projects. Branch 121—St. Mary's, PA. Branch 121 held Social Recognition of past Branch President, Isodore Sporner’s 85th birthday. They held a branch picnic and participated in parish activities. Branch 125 —Greensburg, PA. Branch 125 held a special dinner meeting to thank members for support of branch projects. Branch 126 —St. Mary's, PA. Branch 126 held an Annual Branch Picnic, participated in parish activities, made plans for Annual “Christmas Favors” project for residents of Knights Home, will help with Annual Thanksgiving Drive. Branch 130 —Scranton, PA. Branch 130 participated in the Parish Summer Social and other projects. Held Branch Social after regular meeting. Branch 149 —Swissvale, PA. Branch 149 participated in Parish Festival, held a weekend retreat at Mt. St. George and held an Annual Branch Card Party. Branch 1 55 —Steelton, PA. Branch 155 held a pancake breakfast, donated to Pastor’s moving expenses, purchased first aid kit for church, participated in parish picnic and fund raiser. Branch 222 —Wilkinsburg, PA. Branch 222 held a successful dinner/bingo fund raiser. Made donation in Knights Home and participated in parish dinner and festival. Branch 231 —Altoona, PA. Branch 231 participated in several District projects and parish activities. 10
