Assuming office in January, 1984 will be: John Sabo, National President; Stephen Lang, Jr. and Albert J. Stelkovics, National Vice Presidents; Gus G. Nagy, Na­tional Secretary and John L. Lovász, National Treasurer. This signalled only the beginning of the change to come. At their final session, the convention members elected eight new members to the Board of Directors, including several in their thirties and forties and — for the first time — a woman. The new National Directors are Joseph Arvay, Barbara Botkin, Stephen G. Danko, Stephen Ivancso, Roger Nagy, Elmer Toth and Frank J. Wukovits, Jr. Re-elected National Directors were Zoltán Emri, Albert _J3^__Ke£tesz, William Kohut, JoRn T. Lesko, Sr. arid Frank J. Radvany. The trend toward youth was welcomed by many, including former National President Julius Macker. In his address to the con­vention, Mr. Macker stated, "We need new blood, new energy and new ideas totefresh the Association so it may move forward and: con-* tinue to grow into a greater society". Further symbolizing the ideas of change and growth was the presence of several leaders of the former Catholic Knights of St. George. Earlier in the year, the Knights merged into the William Penn Association, adding 30,000 new members to the Association. Peter C. Kuhn, former Vice Presi­dent of the Knights, reiterated the theme of unity, calling on the assembly to accept one another as Americans and in the true spirit of fraternalism. As part of the unification agree­ment between the two societies, two former officers of the Knights were recognized as officials with the Association. John F. Kenawell will serve as Executive Vice President and William J. Haberstroh, Esq., will serve as a National Director. Perhaps the most touching mo­ment of the convention occurred during the memorial service honor­ing the late Louis L. Varga and other The Auditing Committee met at the Home Office from August 21st, 1983 through August 25th, 1983. Present were the following members: Emma Beganyi, Chairperson Louis Fodor, Secretary Charles Fabian Michael Hrabar Michael Kara Violet Lenart The Committee met with the Na­tional Officers and the Board of Direc­tors where Emma Beganyi, Chairper­son, greeted all in the name of the Auditing Committee, wishing good health and fruitful meeting. We certify the following audit was made: All premium income, income from stocks and bonds, mortgage payments, investments. Checked disbursements on matured certificates, sick benefits, disability, medical, cash surrenders and pension payments. Also examined purchases of new stocks, deceased members of our fraternal family. Director Zoltán Emri offered a poem in memory of all our deceased members and Rev. Alex Kovács of the United Church of Christ in Homestead, Pa. continued the serv­ice offering a prayer in the Hungarian language. In other business, the convention members re-elected the six members of the Auditing Committee. They are: Emma Beganyi, Charles Fabian, Louis A. Fodor, Michael Hrabar, Michael Kara and Violet Lenart. Elected as Alternate Directors were: Michael Tomcsak (first alter­nate), Geza Lang (second alternate), Walter Stelkovis, Elmer Furedy, John Toth, Stephen Szatmári, An­thony Beke, Mario Fappiano, Louis Roka, George Mirkovich, John Woodworth and Anthony Filberto. Chosen as Alternate Auditors were William Kovach, Stephen P. Danko and Joseph Hamari. The convention also passed Resolutions reaffirming the Associa­tion's support for a number of frater­nal activities including the Bowling Tournament, Scholarship Fund, Family Christmas Party, foreign tours, youth camps and membership awards and citations. The convention banquet proved once again to be the social highpoint of the convention. Convention Chair­man Elmer Charles served as Toastmaster and extended greetings to all in attendance. The invocation sales of matured stocks and bonds. Mortgages were checked, vouchers and checks were checked against ledgers, bank statements and deposit slips, physically checked stocks and bonds in safety vault. The Committee read and reviewed the reports of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors. The Committee met with the follow­ing National Officers: Mr. Elmer Charles, who answered all our ques­tions, and Mr. Gus Nay, National Secretary-T reasurer. We wish to thank the employees of the Home Office for their cooperation in supplying us with the requested records so we could complete our ex­amination.
