Canton, Ohio 1590 25.00 Western Pennsylvania Office District News Ron Abels, FIC, Agency Manager and Joe Barreiro, FIC, Special Representative of the Western Penn­sylvania office attended two con­ventions. Ron and his wife, Sara Jane, and Joe and wife, Alice, attended the Fraternal Field Managers' Associa­tion and Fraternal insurance Counselors' Conference in Atlantic City, New Jersey, held at the Golden Nugget on May 4th to May 7th. While at the Convention, Ron re­ceived the Agency Builder Award for 1982, along with a certificate for persistency above 90% while writing over $1,000,000 of life in­surance for 1982. Joe received an award for FIC of the Year along with a certificate for persistency above 90% while writing over $2,000,000 in life sales for 1 982. The following week of May 12th, Ron and Joe attended the Penn­sylvania Fraternal Insurance Counselor's Seminar held at the Bed­ford Springs Hotel in Bedford, Pa. Accompanying them was Richard P. Smith, Sales Consultant, for the William Penn Association. Of course, we hope to have at least 5 FIC's attending next year's seminar. Currently, several representatives are working toward their FIC designation at the Western. Pennv sylvania office. Those who have just recently completed Part 1 suc­cessfully are Daniel Wahl, Andrew Uzonyi and Samual Sulkosky. Agent Charles Semian and wife, Beverly recently were blessed with a 6 lb. 6 oz. baby girl, Michelle Nicole on Saturday, May 21. Congratula­tions go out to the new parents. Newly appointed Branch Managers in the surrounding Pitts­burgh area are: Samuel Sulkosky — Branch 31, Barnesboro, Pa. and Jodene Pascarella —Branch 163, McKees Rocks, Pa.
