Minutes of the Board of Directors Quarterly Meeting Minutes of the First Quarterly Meeting of the Board of Directors of the William Penn Association held on Monday, March 14, 1983, in the Australia Room of the William Penn Hotel, Pittsburgh, PA. 1) National President and Chair­man of the Board, Elmer Charles, opened the meeting at 10:00 A.M. He welcomed everyone to the Spring Board Meeting for 1983. He stated it was a pleasure to meet and greet the Board Members, especially at a Spring Board Meeting, where we can all look back to the accomplishment of the previous year. Spring is the time of the year when nature renews. He hopes everyone will renew the spirit of fraternalism. The theme of this meeting is "Renew, Don't Stew”. Mr. Charles extended birthday greetings to the following: Directors: Joseph Toma, Steve Lesco, Zoltán Emri and Michael Hegedűs. Auditing Committee Members: Violet Lenart, Michael Kara and Michael Hrabar. Belated birthday greetings to: Vice President, John P. Balia; Directors, William C. Kohut, Stephen Danko, Frank Wukovits, Sr., Stephen Lang, Jr., and John T. Lesko. Also to Auditing Committee Members: Charles Fabian, Louis Fodor and Emma Beganyi, Chairper­son. Mr. Charles announced the follow­ing were hospitalized since the last Board Meeting: Vice President John P. Balia, Director Albert G. Kertesz and Marie Charles, wife of National President, Elmer Charles. The Chairman announced the death of the following persons: John Molnár, father of Director Stephen Danko and Joseph Taylor, Former Director and Branch Manager of Branch 383 in Buffalo, New York. The members present stood for a moment of silent prayer in memory of our deceased members. Mr. Charles announced the retire­ment of Director Michael Hegedűs. The Board of Directors will show their appreciation at a dinner to be held on Tuesday evening at the Churchill Country Club. Also at this dinner, the Association will recog­nize eight of the top producing agents of the Association. Each agent sold over 100 policies for the Association. Mr. Charles reported that the Agenda is prepared and he officially called the meeting to order. 2) The members stood and pledged Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America. 3) Vice President, Louis L. Varga, offered the following invocation: Lord, we thank You with all our hearts for guiding us safely through a difficult year. Our membership has increased and financially we have succeeded, but our disappointment was great because we were not able to achieve that age old dream of a unified Hungarian Society.
