Branch 18 has planned many activities and hopes you will keep them in mind and plan on attending our different functions, as you have in the past. Saturday, March 19th, marked the 7th Anniversary of our Social Club. We celebrated this Anniversary with a dinner-dance, featuring our most favorite and famous dinner — the Wooden Platter. It was indeed a wonderful evening. The Dancers of the William Penn Dance Group held a bake sale on Saturday, March 26th, 1983. They had plenty of kalacs and kifli, as well at other goodies. They were very tasty, and the bake sale was a big success. The William Penn Ladies Auxiliary held their Annual Spring Card Party on Monday, March 28, 1983. The place was filled to capacity, which proves that it was indeed a huge success. The prizes were plenty and beautiful, and of course the desserts, as always, were delicious. We understand, at this writing that two new members have been added to the roster, namely, Anna Biro and Sharon Gepes. Welcome ladies. The ladies are now taking names of any other person who would like to join the Auxiliary. The ladies have just returned from a weekend trip to Toronto. We understand the train ride was a nice experience, and enjoyed by all who went. Toronto is a beautiful place to visit and see all the wonderful sights. Many of the ladies found shopping a pleasure as well as the shows. All in all, a good time was had by all. Cards and visits are always welcome by our sick members, namely, Marie Énekes, Margaret Vespremi and Rose Tepfenhart. We also received word, that Mary Kato’s husband has taken ill in Florida. Hope you are all on the road to recovery. We also wish to advise you that Leslie Kubovics is still mending, and doing just great. Our prayers are with all of you for a speedy recovery. Steve Szatmári, Manager of our Social Club has also undergone surgery. However, at this writing, Steve is back at the Club, and being his good “Old Self” once again. Good to see you back, Steve.
