44) Chairman Charles next introduced Mr. Julius Macker, former National President of the William Penn Association. 45) Mr. Julius Macker extended greetings and best wishes from the bottom of his heart to this great Association who is nearing its 100th Anniversary. He also extended greetings to the former Knights of St. George who recently merged with the William Penn Association. Mr. Macker stated that this is the twelfth convention he is attending. On each occasion he looked forward into the future for the Association. The time has come for a change. The Association hasn't had much of a change during the last twelve years. We need new blood, new energy and new ideas to refresh the Association so it may move forward and continue to grow into a greater Hungarian Society. Those members who 98 years ago organized the Association with $28.00 assets would never dream that their work would ever grow into such a great society. The organizers not only organized for insurance purposes but to promote the Hungarian culture. Mr. Macker would like to see this continue and cultivate the Hungarian language and culture into future generations. He sees the future growing and fraternal activity becoming more appealing to our people. The return of the Hungarian Crown has brought great recognition for the Hungarian people. The Association has progressed and grown tremendously in the past few years so we must be on the right track. He hopes the future leaders will continue to develop further progress for our Association. Mr. Charles has done a tremendous job in the past twenty years. Everyone's eye is always on the leader and he must always be on the alert and open for criticism if he errs. The 100th Anniversary is approaching and we should prepare for its celebration. Mr. Macker hopes he will be present for this historic anniversary. 46) Mr. Charles thanked Mr. Macker for his remarks and he too hopes to be present for the 100th anniversary celebration. 47) Mr. Charles recognized and introduced the following visiting guests: Elmer E.
