Ward Awarded C.L.U. Degree

Jeffrey J. Ward, CLU., yvas recently honored at commencement exercises of the American College of Life Underwriters, in New York City, on the successful completion of all of the examinations leading to the degree of Chartered Life Underwriter.

The CLU program is industry recognized as denoting professionalism and expertise in the practice of life insurance. It embodies a series of ten examinations, normally taken at the rate of two a year. The grading is strict. The degree is meaningful.

Mr. Ward is the Agency Manager in our Northern Ohio sales and service office which is announced elsewhere in this issue.

The William Penn willingly participates in the tuition towards the CLU and FIC (Fraternal Insurance Counselor) degrees or diplomas. It is evidence that we strive to offer the most professional of services to our members.

Following the dinner and the program, Reverend Kalman Csia gave the benediction after which the entire guests ended the festivities with the singing of ISTEN ÁLDD MEG A MAGYART.

Ziggy Bela and his Gypsy Orchestra played during the dinner and after the program till the early hours of the morning.

Auditing Committee Minutes

Members of the Auditing Committee met at the Home Office from September 20-24 inclusive. Committee members are as follows:

Emma Beganyi, Chairperson Louis A. Fodor, Secretary Charles Fabian Michael J. Hrabar Michael R. Kara Violet B. Lenart

The committee was welcomed by National President, Elmer Charles, who was glad to see the members all in good health, along with our families.

As a committee, the following items were checked:

Income from stocks, bonds, premiums, investments and interests on bank accounts. Disbursements were checked on death benefits, pensions and disability payments against vouchers and ledger entries.

Sales of stock, bonds and securities were verified, new purchases of securities were counted in the bank vault, sick benefit payments along with hospitalization payments were checked, mortgage income and payments were all checked out. Petty cash was counted.

The committee’s questions were fully answered by Mr. Charles and Mr. Gus G. Nagy, National Secretary- Treasurer.

The co-operation of everyone at the Home Office was greatly appreciated and made our assigned duty smoother to perform.

The audit was conducted in accordance with general accepted audit standards and procedures.
