Balia, thanked everyone for their prayers, cards and kind words of expression during his hospitalization. 8) Director Albert J. Stelkovics read the Minutes of the Executive Committee meetings held on April 28 and 29, 1982. 9) It was moved, seconded and the Board accepted the Executive Committee Minutes for further deliberation. 10) Resolution pertaining to the vacating of premises known as 429 Forbes Avenue. Passed unanimously following a roll call vote. RESOLUTION RESOLUTION BY THE BOARD OF THE WILLIAM PENN ASSOCIATION, in regular session assembled that: WHEREAS, the Board has heard the report of National President, Elmer Charles pertaining to the expiration of our lease on April 30, 1982, for the 5th floor of the Allegheny Building, and his attempts to negotiate a new lease for a shorter period of time pending a decision by the Board at this meeting, for purchase of a Home Office site and WHEREAS, the Allegheny Building was sold to the Allegheny Building Company, and Ohio General Partnership, located at 1148 Euclid Avenue, Suite 400, Cleveland, Ohio, 44144; which transaction was closed. May 14, 1982, and that he was unable to negotiate a new lease for a satisfactory term or fair rental rate, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD, that the National Officers are authorized to give notice to the new owners of the building that we shall vacate our space on or before June 30, 1982. Adopted this 14th day of June, 1982. 11) Resolution pertaining to lease of office space at 1 00 Wood Street. Passed unanimously by Directors. RESOLUTION RESOLVED BY THE BOARD IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED, that; WHEREAS, National President, Elmer Charles and the National Secretary-Treasurer, Gus G. Nagy, have reported on negotiations with the First & Wood Street Associates to lease space known as 100 Wood Street Building for the term beginning July 1, 1982 through April 30, 1984 at a rental of $13.00 per square foot for approximately 5,000 square feet on the second and third floors of the building, with an additional 1,000 square feet available on the 7th floor of the building if required by the Association, WHEREAS, General Counsel Banes has reviewed and approved the proposed lease, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD, that the foregoing lease presented and reviewed at this meeting between the First & Wood Street Associates, of 515 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pa., and the William Penn Association for space at 100 Wood Street is approved and the Officers are authorized to execute the same. RESOLVED FURTHER that the Board has heard the report of Mr. Charles and Mr. Nagy on their negotiations with moving firms and the Board accepts the proposal of South Hills Movers, Inc. and does authorize the Officers to enter into a contract with South Hills Movers, Inc. of 3132 Industrial Boulevard, Bethel Park, Pa., 15102, to provide moving services, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board has also heard the report, that National President Charles and National Secretary-Treasurer Nagy have negotiated for telephone services with Gray Communications for purchase of their NEC 16/48 Electronic Telephone at a cost of $16,958.94, subject to adjustments, and the Officers are authorized to execute the contract approved by General Counsel Banes with Gray Communications for telephone service at the new office location. Adopted this 14th day of June, 1982. 1 2) It was moved, seconded and unanimously adopted by the Board of Directors that the Officers are authorized to enter into contract for telephone installation in the Association's new location, arrange for moving of the office equipment and records from present location to our new location and any other expenses it may incur in transferring from present location to the Association's new location. 1 3) Vice President, John P. Balia congratulated Directors Albert G. Kertesz and Steve Lesco and National Secretary-Treasurer, Gus G. Nagy, for arranging such a fine Bowling Tournament and Scholarship Days in Cleveland, Ohio. He regrets he could not help them due to his hospital confinement. 14) Director Steve Lesco submitted a preliminary, verbal report, on the 1982 Bowling Tournament held in Cleveland, Ohio. He expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation for the assistance he received from the National Officers, Bowling Tournament Administrators, Director Albert Kertesz and the local committee in making this event such a success. He read letters of thanks from the Bond Court Hotel, Rev. Paul Kantor and Rev. Frank Yuhasz Shepherd. Everyone had a pleasant weekend and enjoyed the fraternal fellowship and bowling. The Ecumenical Church Services held on Sunday, was enjoyed by those who attended. 15) President Elmer Charles thanked Director Lesco, the Bowling Tournament Administrator, Director Kertesz and the local committees who worked so diligently to make the 1982 Bowling Tournament a success. He thanked the Committee for arranging the Ecumenical Church Service on Sunday. The Association is grateful for this pleasant and enjoyable weekend of fraternal fellowship. 16) It was moved, seconded and adopted by the Board that the Association purchase telephone equipment from Gray Communications for the new office location in the amount of about $16,000.00. 17) Chairman Charles recessed the meeting at 4:45 P.M. until 9:00 A.M. Tuesday at which time the Board of Directors and National Officers will travel to Penn Scenic View for the meeting. 18) The Board of Directors and National Officers met at 9:00 A.M. Tuesday and proceeded to inspect a parcel of land owned by the City of Pittsburgh, located at Delafield Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pa., near Route 28, between Aspinwall and Fox Chapel. This property could be considered by the Association as its site for a new Home Office. Following the inspection of this property, the Board Members and National Officers then traveled to Penn Scenic View. 19) Chairman Charles reconvened the meeting at 1:30 P.M. at Penn Scenic View, Somerset County, Pennsylvania, and same are present.
