Minutes of the Board of Directors Quarterly Meeting Minutes of the Fourth Quarterly Meeting of the Board of Directors of the William Penn Association held December 14-17, 1981 in the Board Room of the Home Office, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 1) Mr. Elmer Charles, National President and Chairman of the Board, opened the meeting at 10:00 A.M. He welcomed the Board of Directors and National Officers. Mr Charles stated that we are approaching the Christmas holidays and he is greeting everyone in the spirit of Christmas and the spirit of love. The time is here when a meaningful decision has to be made. The Consolidation Committee worked very hard and diligently in an attempt to bring forth that which will be much greater than we have even considered in our organization. He hoped that we will continue to be together and we will work together in the true spirit of Christmas. He stated we should take the issues as they come and deliberate them in the fashion that is in the Christmas spirit. Mr. Charles stated we should have a clear understanding of every issue and have no fear of the future. The Chairman extended birthday greetings to the following who celebrate birthdays: Vice President, John P. Balia; Directors, William C. Kohut, Stephen Danko, Frank J. Wukovits, Sr., Stephen Lang and John T. Lesko. The Chairman announced the following who were hospitalized since the last Board Meeting: Mrs. Ann Hrabar, wife of Auditor, Michael Hrabar; Mrs. Goldie Somogyi, wife of retired National- Treasurer, Juluis Somogyi. Mr. Charles announced the following deaths: László E. Kereszti —Illustrious Member, Former Auditing Committee Chairman; John Surovy —National Secretary, National Slovak Society; Veronica Beganyi —Motherin-Law of Auditing Committee Member, Emma Beganyi; George Varga —Illustrious Member, Manager Branch 214, Flint, Michigan; Anna Wash— Secretary of Branch 28, Youngstown, Ohio; Jennifer Kertesz —Granddaughter of Director and Mrs. Albert Kertesz. The members stood for a moment of silent prayer in memory of our deceased members. With profound sorrow, we wish to announce the passing of Mrs. Goldie Somogyi, wife of former National Treasurer, Julius Somogyi, on December 23, 1981. She is survived by husband, Julius, 3 children, Richard of Memphis, Tennessee, Margaret Barna and Carol Rolewicz of Pittsburgh and 6 grandchildren.
