assist from Frank Domencic; and the food and kitchen brigade—Anne Siebert, Anna Mae Rietski, Barbara Coughlin, Irene Grebur, Carrie Bud­nik, Ethel Sabo, Lester Botkin, and last, but not least, our vivacious Branch Manager Barbara Botkin for her enthusiasm, and efforts in plan­ning, shopping, and putting into operation a most successful Family Christmas Affair. Congratulations and Thanks to all! At this Holiday Season, may we all pray that the true spirit of this Christmas Season—its joy, its beauty, its hope, and above all, its abiding faith, may live among us. May we, at Branch 226, extend the Season’s Greetings in a warm and friendly way for a New Year abundant with hap­piness and good health. Violet B. Lenart Publicity Branch 249 Dayton, Ohio On Saturday, December 19th, at 2:00 p.m., our branch held its annual election meeting. Re-elected to serve for the ensuing year were: President, John Motko; Vice President, John Dúsak; Secretary-Treasurer, Anne Kertesz; Vice President for Fraternal Affairs, Steve Horvath; Auditors, Frank Hoffer and Mike Mayerchak. The preceeding had accomplished such a commendable job in serving their office, they were all re-elected by acclamation. We certainly look for­ward to their faithful service during 1982. Our Children’s Christmas Party commenced at 6:00 p.m. on the above date. It was heartwarming to see such a large group in attendance. 118 in all. This included 42 children and 76 parents or grandparents. Branch 249 Christmas Party. I can anticipate a number of new juvenile members as a result of this worthwhile fraternal function. The evening’s festivities began with refreshments for all and a sit-down dinner of roast beef, sausage, potatoes, salad, and home baked cookies. Director Albert G. Kertesz, as toastmaster, welcomed all those in at­tendance, and called upon Branch President, John Motko, for his welcoming address in the Hungarian language. Director Kertesz then in­troduced the highlight of our evening’s entertainment. Kurt McGlocklin and his fabulous Puppet Show. Everyone in attendance was spellbound and fascinated by his professional exper­tise. Branch 249 Christmas Party. Next came our annual song fest from the booklets provided by the Home Of­fice, our singing was much improved this year as a result of the accompani­ment of Leon Wrobel on the organ. Next came jolly ole Santa (Frank Hoffer) and the distribution of boxes of candy with a silver dollar in each to all our juvenile members in attendance. We wish to thank members of the William Penn Bowling League who brought prospective members, for their support. From the many fine comments I received, this was by far the best Children’s Christmas Party our branch has ever presented. We take this oppor­tunity to thank the National Officers and Board of Directors for their finan­cial assistance. We also wish to thank the following local members who gave of their time and effort to help make the party a great success. Mr. and Mrs. Motko, Mr. and Mrs. Dúsak, Mr. and Mrs. Horvath, Mr. and Mrs. Mayerchak, Mr. and Mrs. Hoffer, Mr. and Mrs. Kertesz, Margaret Bauer, Jim Kennedy and Anne Marie Kertesz. Branch meetings are held at 2:00 p.m., on the third Sunday of each month, at St. Stephen’s Hall, 1114 Troy Street. All members are cordially invited to attend. Our wish is that your Christmas was blessed and meaningful, and that the New Year will bring you an abundance of happiness and prosperity. Respectfully, Albert G. Kertesz Branch 336 Harrisburg, Pa. Branch 336 in Harrisburg, Pa., held their annual Christmas Party on Sun­day, December 20 at the Verhovay Home Association. Approximately 90 were in attendance. They were enter­tained by a magician, sang Christmas songs, were given food and refresh­ments and Santa Claus gave out presents. All were very pleased and delighted with the party and already look for­ward to next year’s affair. 20
