We had 42 golfers for our 2nd Annual Golf Tournament, held on June 28th, at the Dominion Golf Club in Canada. Anyone who missed this tournament missed a real “fun day”. After some frustrations, happiness, or sadness (depending how they golfed) they all enjoyed a delicious meal at the social club of William Penn. Three generations of golfers . . . Mr. Julius Macker, his grandson, Greg, and his son. Robert. Enthusiastic golfers, Louie Kanyo, John Danko, Rey Holguin and Ernie Ecsedi. VACATIONS: Steve Szatmári, together with his wife Darlene, his brother Gyuri and his wife Marika, who incidentally are visiting here from Budapest for five weeks, are spending a relaxing vacation in the northern part of our country. It seems that is the place to relax. Julia Danko, is vacationing in Hungary, together with her two granddaughters, Jennifer Szatmári and Diana Danko. These two young ladies are going to learn more of the Hungarian language, as they are planning on attending a Hungarian seminar. Marge and Steve Szalai, together with their son Greg, spent their vacation (part of it) in Connecticut. They tell me the lobsters are out of this world in Connecticut. Andy and Emma Toth took a small vacation before our bowling tournament, by going to Iowa. Louis and Ida Kanyo, are enjoying weekend vacations on their house boat. John and Helen Molnár and daughter Angela, also enjoy the cool breeze of the waters, (when time permits) by taking a cruise on their boat. Rey Holguin is enjoying sunny Mexico, and will be joined by his wife Betty. They will then continue on to Dallas, California, Las Vegas, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, and back home. Betty Kocsis . . . Happy 70th Birthday! Congratulations to Betty Kocsis, who was given a surprise 70th birthday party. Betty went to visit her sister Helen in Florida, and all the while they were planning a surprise party for her when she returned to Detroit. After Betty came home, her sister and family came to Detroit and gave her one of the most memorable days in her life. There were thirty-five people in attendance. Betty was so excited, surprised, that she could not hold back her tears. This was the first birthday party she ever had in her life. She received many beautiful gifts of diamonds and gold. The dinner was enjoyed by all, followed by the cutting of her cake. Betty was speechless. All in all, she had a beautiful day. Happy birthday to a beautiful person. First Place in the Men's Division was S.P. Danko. Shown here, receiving trophy and congratulations from S. Danko. President of William Penn Branch 18, together with master of ceremonies, Mike Totsky. Vera Mclreavy is the happy recipient, for coming in first place among the ladies. Presentation being made by Mike Totsky and Steve Danko. 20
