dation. There have been some large donations by Vice President Varga, Director Kohut, Branches 19 and 132. He urges everyone to continue to make donations to this worthy cause. He hopes that by 1983 Penn Scenic View Youth Camp will be fully operational and the William Penn Association will offer to Scholarship recipients the opportunity to qualify as Camp Counselors. This will serve a twofold purpose, first, we will have William Penn members as counselors and secondly, these students will be able to earn extra money for their education. Branches are requested to communicate with the Home Office if they have any suggestions regarding the Youth Camp. 8) Secretary Szilagyi reports that 23 new applications have been received to date and 25 renewal applications. There still is, however, nine more days remaining before the May 31 filing deadline so in all probabilities, there will be many more applications received. He has contacted the Scholarship recipients to keep in touch with the Association by writing articles for the William Penn Life about their progress, goals and success with college life. 9) Vice Presidet Varga thinks we don't get enough results from the Scholarship recipients for the benefit of the Association. The Branches should get active and when some Branch member receives a Scholarship Grant, they be brought into the meeting for a gathering, bringing their family members and relations to bring them closer to our Association. Every effort should be made thru the computer program to solicit all members of the Association for donations, thereby, giving more and larger Scholarship Grants. 10) Director Kertesz requests the President or Secretary to notify the Branches as to who the grant recipients are. I have taken piano lessons since I was four, and have learned how to play organ, sax, clarinet, and trumpet through the years. Aside from music, I am a member of the Pre-Med Honor Society Alpha Epsilon Delta, and last year I became a student member of the Academic Policy and Programs Committee of the Board of Trustees. In my spare time, I work on staying in shape, and occasionally “have a few” with my friends. It’s a busy life, but I love it. Looking toward the future, I hope to continue doing well academically in my remaining two years at U.D. After that, I will be attending medical school, although I am not sure where. Until then, I will continue my involvements at U.D., and work on getting the best out of my college years. Overall, the future looks exciting. College is an experience I will never forget, and I am gratefuul that William Penn has supported me in this endeavor. Fraternally yours, Joseph G. Demeter JAMES S. RADVANY I am very honored in that the William Penn Association is interested in my progress at college. I would first like to thank you very much for giving me a scholarship from such a fine organization. I will now try and fill you in on what is going on in my life. I am currently in my junior year at Susquehanna University where I have enjoyed myself for 3 years. I am an Accounting major with a minor in Economics. I presently maintain a 3.4 grade point average and am a University Scholar. I also am a member of the National Business Honor Society. While here at Susquehanna, I have been active in sports.
