THE INSURANCE STORE SINGLE PREMIUM WHOLE LIFE is the William Penn Association's newest life insurance innovation. It's a plan which allows the purchase of a fully paid-up whole life insurance policy with a single premium payment. That's right. Pay only once. No future premium payments necessary. Better yet, almost the entire premium paid is credited as cash value, immediately, and is available as loan collateral in the first year. Without any further premium payments this cash value increases annually. Sounds too good to be true. But, it is true. And, it is unique with William Penn. Modern interest rates make life insurance a better buy today than ever before. Interest rate assumptions are usually the most critical factor in determining the cost of life insurance. In the past, premium rates reflected the insurer's 2Vi to 3'A percent "old money" rate of return on investments. Our SPWL assumes a (5>2 %) interest rate, that means lower premiums for a higher level of protection. Comparing our newer policy with older policies, let's examine the Single Premium Rates for ages 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 and see how much could be purchased for a Single Premium of $2,000 using interest assumptions of 21/2% and the "new money" rate of 51/2% . . . AGE 21/2% 51/2% 10 $7,213 $29,851 20 5,905 20,619 30 4,833 13,986 40 3,979 9,217 50 3,322 6,192 Quite a big difference — and you are the winner. Our new Single Premium Whole Life is available for ages 0 to 95. It is issued in amounts as low as $1,000 with no upper limits. SPWL is ideal for parent and grandparent purchases for children. A child, age 2, for a $2,000 single premium will have $38,462 of fully paid-up whole life insurance with an immediate cash value of $ 2,000 that increases each year. Single Premium Whole Life fits anyone who doesn't want to be faced with yearly premium payments, no matter what your age, even up to age 95. Here are actual premiums for sample ages. The long week-end program started with registration of the participants and guests in the lower atrium of the plush Hyatt Regency O'Hare Hotel. The lobby was filled with members from all over the country greeting each other and chatting with one another, talking about past tournaments, children and grandchildren, branch activities and such. A total of 64 teams registered. Our sincere wish is that next year, in Cleveland, we have more teams participating. Perhaps the Eastern half of the country will be better represented since Cleveland is more in the center of our geographical operations. Friday evening the William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation, Inc., held its annual meeting with an excellent turnout. Minutes of this meeting can be found elsewhere in this issue. Keeping up the custom of years past, the Association provided a fine hospitality room with the local branch members providing the manpower to serve the goodies. There was plenty of hustle and bustle early Saturday morning as the bowlers prepared to depart, by bus, for the Holiday Bowl Midwest Lanes, (Continued on Page 4) 2
