Everyone was entertained by a magician, then the singing of Christmas carols and finally Santa Claus visited with gifts. Thanks to the Home Office for making this affair possible and also to everyone who helped with the preparations. The Branch Officers and their wives helped in the arrangement and success of this party; without them it would not have been what it was. Branch 649 Long Island, N.Y. The Brahms Agency invited 137 members to our office in Valley Stream for a Christmas/New Years Party. We served sandwiches and soft drinks and distributed favors to the parents for their children. The festivities were conducted between the hours of 3:00 P.M. to 10:30 P.M. with the members attending all through these hours. We have now organized and will attempt to gather clothing and other items of usefulness to be distributed to various hospitals in the Long Island area and items to be donated to the Salvation Army. We will keep you abreast of our progress. From Branch 649. Office Manager, Sondra Brahms FEELING #185 That which was has been. Learn from the experience. That which is must be. Accept the experience. That which will he depends on how you handled experience. Branch 249 Christmas Party Our program this year consisted of a sing-out of all present, thanks to the song books provided by the Home Office, after which Santa (Don Feigel) made his appearance with goodies for all the children in attendance. We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Board of Directors and National Officers for the financial assistance granted to our Branch. Branch 296 Springdale, Pa. One of the most successful Christmas parties was enjoyed by all who participated in the Family Christmas Party from Branch 296 held in the United Church of Christ Social Room on Saturday, December 20, 1980. Our annual meeting was held following the Christmas Party. Re-elected to office for the ensuing year were: President, John Motko; Vice President, John Dúsak; Vice President of Fraternal Affairs, Steve Horvath; Secretary- Treasurer, Anne Kertesz; Auditors, Frank Hoffer and Mike Mayerchak. We thank the above for accepting the responsibility of guiding our Branch Affairs for 1981. Our meetings are held the third Sunday of each month at 2:00 p.m. in St. Stephen’s Church Hall, located at 1114 Troy Street. All members are invited to attend the meetings and voice your opinions. Our strength lies in our membership. Plans are now being formulated to sponsor both men and womens’ teams in the 1981 National Bowling Tournament in Chicago. Please contact Steve Horvath at 434-3249 if you are interested in bowling. Chartering a bus for the trip to Chicago is a possibility if a sufficient number of people are interested in attending, let us hear from you. You can be instrumental in helping our Branch grow in membership. Call me at 275-6654, regarding any prospects you may have. Respectfully submitted, Albert G. Kertesz Director 19
