Author Unknown Scholarship A wardee Highlights We are proud of all young people receiving scholarships from the William Penn and from time to time we would like to highlight the achievement and progress of some of our outstanding scholars. One of these scholars is John E. Lovász. Born: October 13, 1960 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Member of the William Penn since birth. Father employed by the William Penn Association for 35 years, originally employed by the Rákóczi Aid Association of Bridgeport, Connecticut. John is in his Junior Year at Gannon University in Erie, Pa. He is a Communications—English Major and was put on the Editorial Staff of the Gannon Knight, the school paper, in his Freshman Year. John was employed at the Home Office during the summer months vacation for the past three years. John’s writing talent began in his early elementary school years and throughout his high school years he had been encouraged by his English teachers to pursue a course of study in English and Communications. This past summer, John was selected by the Editorial Staff of “Erie Magazine” to write an article for the magazine reviewing two movies that played in the local theatre. They were so impressed with his writing, that they asked him to do several more articles for the magazine. John was also very active with the Junior Achievement group in the city of Pittsburgh throughout his high school and early college years and attended several national meetings of Junior Achievement representing the Pittsburgh Chapter. (If you are a scholarship recipient, why don't you send a story about your experience in school, your involvements, etc.)
