VOIAJME 15 SPRING 1980 NUMBER 2 National Bowling Tournament and Scholarship Days: May 23-25, 1980 The Dayton, Ohio Bowling Tourna­ment Committee has completed plans for hosting the 37th National Bowling Tournament Sponsored by the William Penn Association. Head­quartered at the Stouffers Dayton Plaza Hotel. Tournament administrators are Dayton, Ohio's National Director Al­bert Kertesz, and National Vice President John P. Balia, Vice Presi­dent Gus G. Nagy. They are co­ordinating all social, Fraternal and Bowling Activities. Bowlers Registration Desk will open on Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Hotel Lobby. The William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation Annual Meeting will be held Friday, May 23, 1980 at the Stouffer's Dayton Plaza Hotel at 7:00 p.m. and the Hospitality Rooms will open at 8:00 p.m. The bowling will commence Satur­day, May 24, 1 980 at 9:00 a.m. at the Capri Lanes, 2727 South Dixie Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45409, for Team Events and on Sunday, May 25, 1980 for Singles and Doubles Events. Bus transportation will be provided to and from the bowling alley. The Board of Directors at its last meeting voted to increase the team prizes by $ 1 500.00. The women of the Dayton Bowling Tournament Committee, under the leadership of Mrs. Anna Kertesz and Margaret "Vassy" Demeter are hav­ing a Luncheon and Style Show, "The Way We Were", at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, $6.50 per person. Make reservations by May 12, 1980. Both ladies and gentlemen are invited. See you in Dayton for an enjoyable weekend. The Gala Bowlers Dinner Dance will be held in the main ballroom of the hotel with Prime Rib of Beef at $15.00 per person commencing at 7:00 p.m. Preceded by a cash bar cocktail hour at 6:00 p.m. Music for the Dinner Dance will be by the Frank Borisz Orchestra. Tables for groups of 10 should be mailed no later than May 12, 1980. There will be a short program after the dinner. SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT BOWLING TOURNAMENT The Board of Directors, at its re­cent Board Meeting, voted to in­crease the cash contribution to the National Bowling Tournament by $1,500.00. The Men's Teams will receive $1,000.00 of this amount and the Women's teams will receive MADE THIS day of 1 980 by and between the WILLIAM PENN ASSOCIATION, a fraternal benefit society organized and ex­isting under the laws of the Com­monwealth of Pennsylvania, and having its offices and principal place of business in the City of Pittsburgh, County of Allegheny in said Com­monwealth, and acting herein by ELMER CHARLES, its National Presi­dent and ALBERT J. STELKOVICS, its National Secretary, hereinafter referred to as "WILLIAM PENN" and THE AMERICAN HUNGARIAN CATHOLIC SOCIETY, a fraternal $500.00 Based on the 1 979 Men's Team prizes for 38 teams, the first prize was $325.00; in 1980, it will be $625.00 The balance will be allotted to the next 9 Team Winners. Based on 1979 Women's prize list for 23 teams, the first prize was $150.00; in 1980, it will be $350.00 and the balance will be paid to the next 3 Team Winners. We would like to invite all attend­ing the Bowling Tournament to at­tend the Luncheon and Style Show "The Way We Were", on Saturday, May 24, 1980 at 12:30 P.M. in Stouffer's Ballroom. The luncheon will be Swiss Alpine Quiche, Cottage Cheese with Fruit Sauce, Sherbert, Cookies and Beverage. The price will be $6.50. Plan on attending.
