but no later than March 1, 1 980 all proposed participants have a deposit made for the trip. 32) It was moved, seconded and authorized by the Board that a flyer be mailed in the next premium billings notifying the membership of the planned 1980 Tour to Hungary which will also include two land tours in Hungary. 33) Secretary Albert J. Stelkovics read a letter from the Magyarok Vilagszovetsege outlining the eight day and nine night Tour of Hungary in detail and the six day Tour of Hungary also in full detail. The approximate cost of the eight day tour will be $400.00 and the cost of the six day tour about $300.00 per person, double occupancy. 34) It was moved, seconded and the Board adopted the following resolution pertaining to accidental death benefits. RESOLUTION The Board of Directors ratifies the action of the Officers for purchasing a group accidental death and medical payment policy for the benefit of the Board Members, Auditing Committee Members and the Officers. 35) It was moved, seconded and the Board adopted the following resolution for the purchase of William Penn Fraternity rings for the newly elected Board members and Auditing Committee members. 36) It was moved, seconded and the Board authorized the purchase of Illustrious Citation lapel pins for the Officers and Directors who have received citations and will receive them in the future. 37) The Board of Directors authorized that a group photograph be taken of the newly elected Board of Directors, Auditing Committee members and National Officers at the March meeting. 38) The Board of Directors adopted the following resolution pertaining to the membership in various fraternal organizations and send representatives to attend meetings at these various organizations. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Association is a member of various Congresses and Trade Associations, and WHEREAS, these groups hold educational and training meetings at ^ various times, NOW, THEREFORE, BE AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Board of Directors this 11th day of December, 1979, that the Association continue to send representatives to the National Fraternal Congress of America, Pennsylvania and other State Congresses, Field Managers Meetings, Investment Section Meetings, International Claim Association, and others which may be deemed necessary or advisable. 39) The Board delegated the Executive Committee to review the Blue Cross and Major Medical Program and bring forth its recommendations to the Board of Directors. 40) The Board of Directors authorized the following resolution pertaining to the presentation of Illustrious Citations to four members of Branch 1 32, South Bend, Indiana. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, members of the William Penn Association, Branch 132, at the regularly held monthly meeting, on October 17, 1979 unanimously voted to request from the National Members of the Board of Directors, the presentation of the Illustrious Citation to the following who have served as Branch Officers for a period of 1 5 years or longer. Officer since 1 944 VARGA, Paul Officer since 1 965 Request is unanimously granted. 41) The Association received a request for a donation to the Dr. Samuel Gomory Scholarship Foundation by the Hungarian Room Committee of the University of Pittsburgh. The Chairman of the Hungarian Room Committee is General Counsel Gay B. Banes and Vice Chairman is National Secretary- Treasurer Albert J. Stelkovics. It was authorized by the Board that the Association donate $100.00 towards the Dr. Gomory Scholarship Foundation. 42) The Board of Directors voted a donation of $150.00 to the Hungarian Catholic League of America, Inc. for their Annual Charity Ball. 43) The Board also voted the annual donation of $1,000.00 to the American Hungarian Foundation in New Brunswick, N.J. 44) The Board of Directors acknowledge receipt of letters of thanks from the following scholarship recipients: Carolyn G. Radvany, Lisa Lenches, Leslie Lenches, Michael Petruska, Carolyn Tady, Elizabeth Varga, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Lucas, Sr., A. G. Lucas, Jr., Joseph Stephen Demko, Joseph C. Balias III, Joseph Vascil, Gerald G. Vascil, Elizabeth A. Rapagna, Michael J. Eveges and John E. Lovász. 45) ) The Board acknowledged receipt of donations to the William Penn Scholarship Foundation from the William Penn Dancers, Branch 18, Detroit, Michigan, Past National President Julius Macker and Robert J. Stypa, Branch 14, Cleveland, Ohio. 46) The Board acknowledged receipt of letter from Susan Wells whereby she returned her scholarship award since her financial status was such that she did not need the funds. She requested that this grant be offered to a student who is in need of such an award. The Board of Directors sincerely thanks Susan Wells for making it possible to award this scholarship to another recipient. 47) The Board acknowledged receipt of letter from Coloman R. Bertalan, Branch 45, Cleveland, Ohio who was a delegate to the 29th General Convention. 48) The Board further acknowledged receipt of letters of thanks from the following: William Penn Hotel, John J. Klee and Jönni Dempsey. 49) The Board of Directors acknowledged the letter of Hungarian Cultural Institute of Ligonier, Pa. and ordered it to be placed on file. 50) Secretary-Treasurer Albert J. Stelkovics announced he desired to retire from the Association effective December 31, 1979. After much discussion and reconsideration, Mr. Stelkovics agreed to remain on the staff until March 31,1 980. 51) Director Albert Kertesz informed the Board that plans for the 1980 Bowling Tournament and Scholarship Days to be held in 26
