Violet B. Lenart Reporter Branch 249 Dayton, Ohio Our annual meeting at which the Branch Officers were re-elected for another term was held on December 16th. The following will guide our Branch activities for the coming year: John Motko, President; John Dúsak, Vice President; Steve Horvath, Vice President Fraternal Affairs; Frank Hoffer and Mike Mayerchak, Auditors; Anne Kertesz, Secretary- Treasurer. We wish them well and trust they will discharge their duties in the best interest of our Branch. Our Children’s Christmas Party was once again very successful, being well attended by some members we haven’t seen in recent years. We wish to thank all those who worked so unselfishly to help make our annual Christmas Party a success. Thanks also to the ladies who helped prepare the goodies, to Frank Hoffer for his excellent role as Santa and to the Joy Felföldi Reboulet dancers for providing entertainment. Special thanks is extended to the National Officers and Board of Directors for the financial support, without which this party would not have been possible. Our Branch is looking forward to a banner year since Dayton has been designated as the site for the 1980 National Bowling Tournament and Scholarship Days. Our headquarters will be the Stouffer Dayton Plaza Hotel aiross from the Convention Center. Bowling will be held at the Capri Lanes on South Dixie. We are looking for additional branch members to bolster our committee to help make this weekend of May 23, 24, 25th one that will be long remembered by all those in attendance from near and far. The more people involved on the committee, the more successful the affair; those wishing to help should call me at 275-6654. We would also like to show our strength among the bowling teams. Bowlers interested in forming, joining, or entering teams should call Steve Horvath at 434-3249. Plans are being formulated to have a luncheon-style pageant for the ladies on May 24. This is not only a style show but something entirely different, something the ladies will really enjoy. For those who are coming from afar, might I suggest planning an extra day in Dayton and viewing the world’s most complete display of Aeronautics at the Air Force Museum. It all began right here in Dayton, the “Birthplace of Aviation”. Our Association is again planning a trip to Hungary this summer, complete details should be available in this issue. Dayton will be well represented on this trip, as in the past, since I have already submitted 65 names to the Home Office of those who are expressing an interest in the trip. Seats on the airplane will be on a first come—first served basis; so to be assured of a seat, please submit your flight reservation check as soon as possible, when requested to do so, by the Home Office. I will be having meetings with those people who will be joining us on the trip to Hungary, to assist them in preliminary plans and to answer any questions they may have to make their travel more enjoyable. In these days of spiraling inflation, it may be well to check your life insurance portfolio. If I can be of any assistance in updating your family’s protection, call me at 275-6654.
