Our returning delegates, Mr. Joseph Baumgartner and Mr. Ernest Mozer, reported to the membership about the happenings at the recent William Penn Association Convention held on Sept. 10, 1979 in Pittsburgh. I wish to thank them for their excellent report. The delegates asked me to thank all the other branches attending the convention for the kindness extended to them. It was a true example of fraternalism. At this time 1 wish to inform the membership of Branch 51 that both the general election of officers for 1980 and our Children’s Christmas Party will be held on the same Sunday (December 9, 1979). Please keep this important date in mind and make plans to attend both. Refreshments will be served. Place: President Palace Hall, 115 President Street, Passaic, N.J. Date: December 9, 1979 (Sunday) Election of officers will be held at 1:30 P.M. (Prompt). Children’s Christmas Party will be held at 3:00 P.M. (Prompt). As always, a good time is assured. Santa will be there too, to greet all our children with a gift. So children, be sure to bring your parents and grandparents for an enjoyable afternoon. Your wonderful support of these affairs has been very encouraging to your Branch officers and are therefore delighted to do things for the Branch’s juvenile and adult membership. Fraternally yours, Andrew Nemeth President Branch 76 Philadelphia, Pa. With the end of summer, we are getting ready for our fall and winter activities. First and foremost on the list, our 22nd Annual Dinner-Dance. It will be held Saturday, November 3, 1979, commencing at 7 P.M. The music for the occasion will be furnished by the well known “CONTINENTALS” led by Steve Turoczi from Bethlehem, Pa. This affair has enjoyed a nice turnout in recent years, thanks to the nearby William Penn Branches. The William Penn Scholarship Fund also benefits from the proceeds. We, also hope to revive the Annual Christmas Party, if we get cooperation and support from our members. The election of officers for 1980 will be held at 8 P.M., Saturday, Dec. 8, 1979 at the Philadelphia Hungarian Club, on Southampton Road. We urge our members to come out and take an active roll in the Branch functions. The present officers have been carrying the load for many years. We need younger people to take over to further advance, and help our organization to prosper. Our sincere congratulations to the Officers and Delegates of the William Penn National Convention for the harmonious and progressive conclusion of their meeting held recently in Pittsburgh, Pa. We hereby wish everyone a Happy and Joyful holiday season, good health, and continued prosperity in the coming New Year. 60th Wedding Anniversary Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schmidt, of Middletown, Del. who celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary, on June 9, 1979.
