Report of The National Auditing Committee TO: National President, Elmer Charles In accordance with Chapter V of the By-Laws, the Auditing Committee met at the Home Office Monday, August 20-August 24, 1979. The following members were present: Emma L. Beganyi Charles Fabian Louis A. Fodor Michael J. Hrabar Michael R. Kara Violet Lenart The Committee members were happy to greet and welcome Violet Lenart as the new member of the Committee. Due to the illness and resignation of Chairlady, Helen Nemeth, Violet Lenart as first alternate was called to serve on the Committee. National President, Elmer Charles, welcomed the members and extended his invitation to join the Officers and Board Members in their opening exercises of the quarterly meeting. Louis A. Fodor on behalf of all the Committee expressed the joy of all being present and in good health. Our examination covered the period beginning January 1, 1979 and ending June 30, 1979. As members of the Committee we certify that the following examination was made: All bank accounts were thoroughly checked to the ledger controls and confirmed through statements received from the bank upon request of the Auditing Committee. These included the General Account, Payroll Account, Dividend Account, Pension Account, Medical and Disability Accounts. Every disbursement made during the six month period under audit was carefully checked and verified by vouchers and cancelled checks. New stock and bond purchases were verified. The Committee went to the vault at Mellon Bank and carefully checked each and every new purchase made during the period under audit. Also, at this time all stocks and bonds acquired through the American Life Insurance Association merger were all checked, counted and verified to the Annual Statement. All income accounts were examined. The mortgage portfolio was checked, new loans granted were examined, and found to be in order according to the rules and regulations of the Association. This being our last official audit completing our four year term, we reviewed all the previous reports and compiled a concise report to the delegates of the 29th National Convention which is scheduled to convene Monday, September 10, 1979. We read the minutes of the quarterly Board Meeting, the President’s report and the Actuary Report. At the close of audit the Committee met with National President Charles, National Secretary-Treasurer Stelkovics and General Counsel Banes. They informed us of the latest developements of the building complex on Grant Street, also, the proposed renovations at the Scenic View property. The Committee members thanked the National Officers and all the Home Office employees for their help and kind and generous reception extended to them during their visits to the Home Office for the past four years. We always looked forward to coming and meeting everyone and enjoying beautiful friendships and fraternalism. There were over three hundred people in attendance attesting to the popularity of Dr. Molnár. Invocation was given by Msgr. Dr. Basil Sereghy, Pastor Transfiguration of our Lord Hungarian Byzantine Church. Miss Helen Stipkovits accompanied by Mary Shatlock sang the Star Spangled Banner and Magyar himnusz. Benediction was by Rev. Árpád Orosz, Pastor Free Magyar Reformed Church. The William Penn Association was represented by Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Charles, Mr. and Mrs. Albert J. Stelkovics, Mr. and Mrs. William C. Kohut, Mr. and Mrs. Gus G. Nagy, Mr. and Mrs. James Beganyi, Mrs. Violet Lenart and Mr. Gay B. Banes, J.D. We extend to Dr. Molnár our sincere congratulations and trust that he will continue with his Magyar program for many years to come.
