The party was for the eligible young members of the Branch and the smiles on their faces showed it was a success. Branch Officer elections were held on Sunday, December 3, 1978 at the American Hungarian Democratic Citizens Club. Elected unanimously to office for the year 1979 were the following: President, Frank J. Rad­­vany; Vice President, Joseph Hamari; Secretary, Elsie H. Radvany; Treasurer, Anthony C. Beke; and Con­troller, Betty Kennedy. Following the meeting, we com­menced with the Annual Children’s Christmas Party. National Director, Frank J. Radvany welcomed the children, parents, and members pre­sent and extended Christmas greetings to all on behalf of National President, Elmer Charles, National Officers, Directors of the William Penn Associa­tion, and Branch 13. Stockings filled with goodies and gifts were presented to the children. Everyone enjoyed the delicious buffet and fraternal fellowship at the party. Branch 13 wishes to express a most heartfelt “thank you” to the Home Office for the generous contribution towards our Children’s Christmas Party. Our regular monthly meetings are held on the first Sunday of each month commencing at 2:00 P.M. at the American Hungarian Democratic Citizens Club on So. Clinton Avenue, Trenton, N.J. Fraternally yours, Secretary Branch 13 Branch 1 5 Chicago, Illinois Our Branch held its customary Harvest Festival Dance October 7, 1978 in King St. Stephen Social Hall. We are happy to report that our social event was very successful and everyone who attended was pleased and enjoyed themselves. No social or fraternal event can be successful unless there are a few dedicated Branch Officers and members who are willing to pitch in and work for the success of the affair. In this instance too Mr. Frank Balogh took care of all the purchases, in addi­tion to this sold tickets and made home prepared kolbász. Mrs. Balogh and Maria Carl donated home baked goodies. The hard task of running the kitchen was under the direction of Vice Presi­dent Mary Galambos and was ably assisted by: Klara Szabady, Vera Krammer, Elizabeth Mandoki and Mrs. Frank Balogh. The guests had a wide selection of several menu items. Handling tickets was Treasurer, Joseph Hodits, John Racz handled the chips. Serving refreshments were Stephen Kish, Imre Bosics, and Joseph Subsics. Mary Hodits, Irene Subsics, Maria Carl and Mrs. Frank Balogh manned the flower stand and raffle. It is always nice to see members get together for an evening of friendly social activity. William Penn Branch 15 held its An­nual Christmas Party December 17, 1978. It was a beautiful day this Sunday afternoon. At 3:00 P.M. the hall was full of children and their parents. Some came as far as 80 miles away. The President Frank Balogh greeted all present on behalf of the William Penn Association. Then at 3:15 P.M. the party pro­ceeded by showing the cartoons which all enjoyed. After a couple of carols, Santa appeared and wished a Merry Christmas to all and distributed the goodies and gifts to all our children. Hot dogs and soda followed. There were also refreshments for their parents. Santa’s helpers were the Presi­dent, Mr. E. Bosits and Mr. S. Kiss. Mrs. J. Galombos kept the hot dogs warm. The New Jersey Branches jointly sponsored a Dinner-Dance for the benefit of the Scholarship Foundation, Saturday, October 28, 1978 in the beautifully decorated Hungarian Athletic Club, New Brunswick, N.J. It was a pleasure to see so many guests present, supporting such a worthwhile cause. Our thanks go out to those Directors, Auditing Committee Members, and Branch Officers who worked so diligently to make the even­ing a success. In keeping with the modern trend, there was no head table and only a very short speaking pro­gram. Father Frank Eles gave the in­vocation and Father Julian Fuzer the Benediction. Joseph Arvay, President Branch 19, was the Toastmaster and did masterfully conduct the program. Director Michael Hegedűs welcomed the guests. Mr. Louis L. Varga, Na­tional Vice President spoke on behalf of the Officers and Directors. National Secretary Albert J. Stelkovics spoke on behalf of the Scholarship Foundation.
