Branch 16 Perth Amboy, N.J. Our annual Christmas Party was held on December 10, at St. Nicholas Greek Catholic Church in Perth Amboy. Branch President and National Auditor, Michael Hrabar welcomed the children and their parents and extended Holiday Greetings from the Branch and National Officers. Mr. Stephen Mészáros, Branch Manager and his wife, Mary Mészáros were co-chairpersons. Mr. Mészáros also was Master of Ceremonies and introduced Mr. W. S. Raner who presented a magic show that was enjoyed by all. The biggest feature of our Christmas Party was the arrival of Santa Claus. Santa’s helpers were, Mr. Michael Hrabar, Mr. and Mrs. George F. Mirkovich, Miss Annette Hrabar and Mr. A1 Kreger. On December 19, election of officers was held. The nominating committee reported the slate for 1979 as follows: President, Michael J. Hrabar; Vice President, Stephen Mészáros; Treasurer, A1 Kreger; Secretary, George F. Mirkovich; Auditors, Mary Mészáros and Ann Hrabar; Reporter, Michaelene Mirkovich. The officers were unanimously elected and installed into office. Michaelene Mirkovich, Reporter Branch 18 Detroit, Michigan Branch 18 sincerely regrets not having our publication last issue, but we hope to make up for it with this reporting. In our last edition, we mentioned some of our coming events, all of which were well organized and successful. The card party was held at our Branch 18 Social Club. It was well planned by the officers’ wives of William Penn Branch 18 and Social Club. The prizes were donated by the officers’ wives, which were many, and everyone had a most enjoyable evening. Pennsylvania Governor Richard Thornburgh Meets With Pittsburgh Fraternalists Pittsburgh, Pa.—Pennsylvania Governor Richard Thornburgh met with Pittsburgh area fraternal leaders on February 16 at the Hilton Hotel. The recently inaugurated governor was guest speaker at a banquet attended by numerous officers of fraternal benefit societies domiciled in the greater Pittsburgh area. Following the banquet Governor Thornburgh hosted a private meeting with the fraternalists, expressing his deep concern for the many charitable, educational and humanitarian services offered by the fraternal societies.
