Section 5 will read as follows: “A social member is one who is not in­sured but is admitted to a Branch under rules established by the Board of Directors. Such a member shall have the right to participate in all social and fraternal activities sponsored by the Branch or the Association, without a voice or vote in the management of in­surance matters.” 23) CHAPTER II—THE GENERAL CONVENTION Page 13, Section 1, in line 1, insert before the word “governing” the words “LEGISLATIVE OR”. Page 14, delete first word: “elected” and insert “NATIONAL”. 24) Page 16, Section 5(d), in lines 4, 5 and 6, delete: “declare an emergency. The declaration of an emergency hav­ing been made a vote by mail shall be taken”. Replace the deletion with: “ORDER A REFERENDUM BY MAIL”. In lines 7 and 12, delete: “registered” and replace with “CER­TIFIED”. 25) Page 17, Section 5(f), delete: “National Officers” and insert in­stead: “CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD”. Page 17, Section 5(g), delete: “Na­tional Officers” and insert instead: “CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD”. 26) CHAPTER IV—THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS Page 17, Section 1—Insert the following as first sentence: “THE LEGISLATIVE OR GOVERNING BODY OF THE ASSOCIATION BETWEEN CONVENTIONS SHALL BE THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS”. The following sentence to be amended to read as follows: “There shall be elected at the General Convention a Chairman of the Board who by virtue of his office is a Director of the Association with all the obligations, rights and privileges of elected Board Members, fifteen Directors and fifteen Alternate Directors for a term of four years,” etc. Page 17—Last three lines on this page and five lines on lop of Page 18 to be deleted. 27) Page 18, Section 3—Delete en­tire section. 28) Page 18, Section 4 to become Section 3 and to read as follows: “The Board of Directors, following each regular meeting of the General Con­vention shall elect a Secretary of The Board, National President, two Na­tional Vice Presidents, National Secretary, National Treasurer and ap­point the following Officers: General Counsel, Medical Director, Ad­ministrative Vice Presidents, Assistant Officers and such other technical and professional personnel as deemed necessary from time to time.” 29) Page 18—Delete Paragraph beginning with: “The Board of Direc­tors may, etc. and replace with: “An Officer, Director or Auditing Commit­tee Member may be removed from of­fice, for cause, by an affirmative vote of two-thirds of the full Board.” The Board of Directors shall establish and/or adjust for a calendar year the salary of the Chairman of the Board, National President, two Na­tional Vice Presidents, National Secretary, National Treasurer and the appointed officers and also provide for Membership Campaign The Board of Directors has authorized a continuous Membership Cam­paign which offers cash prizes to the participants. The purpose of the Member­ship Campaign is to increase the William Penn Association membership thereby strengthening this fraternal benefit society Another purpose is to afford an op­portunity for European Trip participants or Bowlers to the National Bowling Tournament or participants in any other trip arranged for William Penn members to earn some money to help defray expenses in connection with these fraternal activities. The rules which apply to this membership campaign are simple: 1. Campaign continues until withdrawn by Board. 2. All insurance plans presently being sold by the Association may be sold to prospective members 3. Premium must be paid on an annual or semi-annual basis, (quarterly or monthly payments not accepted). 4. Contestants' prize money will be in direct relationship to the first annual premium amount paid by the new member. 5. No medical examination report is required nor will there be inspection reports ordered for amounts of $5,000.00 thru insurance age 60. 6. William Penn members desiring to participate in the Membership Cam paign must complete and return the Membership Campaign Enrollment Form printed at the end of this article. 7. Special Agents, Branch Managers and Full time men, that is anyone who has a commission contract with the Association, cannot participate in the Membership Campaign unless they waive their contractual commis­sions. 8. Those enrolling in the Membership Campaign will receive application forms, rates and instructions from the Home Office. This is a splendid opportunity for members to serve the Association by helping to increase the membership William Penn Association MEMBERSHIP CAMPAIGN ENROLLMENT FORM I, the undersigned, hereby notify the Home Office that I wish to participate in the MEMBERSHIP CAMPAIGN, as authorized by the Board of Directors.
