Minutes of The Board of Directors Quarterly Meeting Excerpts from the Minutes of the Board of Directors of the William Penn Association held on August 20-23, 1979 in the Board Room of the Home Office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 1) National President and Chairman of the Board Elmer Charles opened the meeting at 10:00 A.M. He welcomed each one present for the last time during this present administration which ran from September 1975 to September 1979. On behalf of Helen Nemeth the president expressed her sincere thanks for the many considerations extended by the Board of Directors and Auditing Committee and for the continued support she received. She will always fondly remember and have pleasant memories of her twelve years of service as a member of the Auditing Committee. Mr. Charles informed the Board that the Agenda is prepared. O'Keefe, Kathleen L., Taunton, Ma. forthcoming general convention. Based on the recommendations of the Executive Committee we can now make final preparations for the convention. Mr. Charles was happy to report that this was the first time this term there were no deaths to report among the members of the official family. He reported the following persons were recently hospitalized: John L. Lovász, home office employee; Eva Lehoczky, home office employee; Ann Hrabar, wife of Auditing Committee member Michael Hrabar. Mr. Charles was also happy to report that National Secretary- Treasurer Albert J. Stelkovics has fully recovered from a successful operation. Mr. Charles welcomed former National Treasurer Julius E. Somogyi who is present for the opening ceremony of the Board of Directors meeting. He welcomed the Auditing Committee members who are present for their semi-annual meeting. He informed the Auditing Committee members that there is a proposed by-law change that their term of office will coincide with the term of the Board of Directors. Mr. Charles officially introduced Mr. John T. Lesko, Sr. and Mr. Paul Molocko, Directors of the American Life Insurance Association, to the Auditing Committee members. 2) Speaking on behalf of the Auditing Committee Violet Lenart expressed her sincere thanks and appreciation to be a member of the Auditing Committee. She affirmed that she will work for the best interest of the Association, and was indeed happy to be among the official family. 3) The Board of Directors, National Officers, and Auditing Committee members pledged allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. 4) Vice President Louis L. Varga offered the following invocation: Lord, lest we forget: Let us remember that today Hungarians all over the world celebrate King St. Stephen Day, the Patron Saint of Hungary who introduced and fostered Christianity to Hungary more than 1 OOO years ago. We pray for the great Hungarian Saint and for his people. 34
