VICE PRESIDENTMARKETING VISITS DETROIT I wish to share with you my exciting and inspiring visit in Detroit with the Officers and Members of Branch 18. When I arrived on Sunday afternoon, I was invited to participate in the Christmas singing. Over one hundred people were enjoying the festive atmosphere and the delicious and well prepared Hungarian food. Later that afternoon I was able to witness the competitive spirit of bowlers, all members of the William Penn, twenty teams taking over the entire bowling alley. Another league is already on the drawing board, more teams are already formed. On Tuesday afternoon, the Women’s Auxiliary met for election of Officers. Next year’s leaders were elected. A check (Continued on Page Seven) Bowling Tournament . . . (Continued from Page One) about the banquet within the next few days. Start making plans now to be with us in Washington, D.C. for the 1977 Bowling Tournament. The Board feels, from past experiences, that a minimum of 50 teams are necessary in order for the National Bowling Tournament to be a successful fraternal activity. In order, therefore to assure continuance of this sport, all Branches are urged to send teams not only in 1977 but also in future years. The Board has also resolved to increase the amounts of the first prize for the men’s and women’s team event winners. This prize is to be provided by the Association. Please get your entry forms in as soon as possible so that scheduling can be accomplished early. The Association will try to arrange for a guided tour of Washington, D.C., if there are a sufficient number of members interested in such a sightseeing tour. Please write to Mr. Gus G. Nagy, Vice President-Membership Services, if you are interested. See you in Washington!
