8 JOHNSTOWN, PA. On Sunday, Dec. 14th, 1975, the William Penn Association of Johnstown, Pa., Branch #8 elected their Branch Officers for 1976. The results were as follows: Mrs. Steve ( Vera) Petruska .. .. President Miss Sheila Godeck.........Vice President Mrs. Mary Shrengost Recording Secretary Steve Petruska .........................Treasurer Mrs. Ida Sipos Mrs Alexis Kozak .....................Auditors Following the election, there was a Christmas Party for the children, with entertainment provided by the students of Sharon’s Dance Studios, who always do a beautiful job of dancing and acting. After the entertainment, Branch Mgr. Steve Petruska lead the c hildren and their parents and even some grandparents in singing Jingle Bells, when suddenly Santa Claus arrived with his Merry and Cheery Ho! Ho! Ho! Santa then joined in singing the other carols from the songbooks provided by the Home Office. Later, Santa sat by the Christmas tree and the children were delighted and anxious to whisper to Santa just exactly what they wanted for Christmas, so Santa responded by giving each child a Yuletide Gift. Santa was really enjoyed by all. The program was concluded with the serving of refreshments to all present, while the children, parents, and grandparents were busy enjoying their refreshments and conversing with one another, Santa suddenly disappeared. Br. 8 is very grateful to the Home Office for its generous contributions in making our Christmas Party a huge success and extends its Best Wishes for the New Year to all the National Officers and Staff at the Home Office. We wish to thank the following that helped serve the refreshments: Vera Petruska, Ida Sipos, Ann Stofa, and Alex Sabo. Thanks to Barbara Petruska and Valeria Stofa for decorating the Beautiful Christmas tree, also Thanks to anyone else who helped make this Christmas party a success. I wish to thank one and all for sharing this beautiful afternoon with your children. Our regular monthly meetings are held on the 2nd Sunday of each month, commencing at 2:00 P.M. in the Social Hall of the Hungarian Evan. & Refomed Church at the corner of 9th Ave. & Chestnut St. (Cambria City) Johnstown, Pa. 15906. All members are cordially invited to attend these meetings. Mr. Steve Petruska, Br. The officers and members of Branch 013, Trenton, N.J. wish to express their deepest sympathies to our National President, Elmer Charles on the passing of his beloved wife, Mary. Our annual election of officers for Branch 013 was held on Sunday December 4, 1975 at the American Hungarian Democratic Citizens Club with Director Frank J. Radvany presiding as chairman. The following were unanimously elected to office. President, Frank J. Radvany, Vice-President, Joseph Hamari, Secretary, Elsie H. Radvany, Treasurer, Anthony C. Beke, and Controller,Betty Kennedy. Life time honorary President of Branch 013, Frank Radvany, former National Director, who is a 60 year member of our Association was requested to install the newly elected officers. Our annual Children’s Christmas Party was held on Sunday December 14, 1975 at the St. Stephen’s Parish Hall. National Director Frank J. Radvany welcomed ever­yone and extended Christmas greetings from National President Elmer Charles, the National Officers, Directors of our Associa­tion, and Branch 013. The children were entertained by the Irene Parker Dance Studio and Santa, who arrived with stockings and gifts for the children. Every child won a door prize donated by Branch 013 and the officers of the Branch. The party concluded with the serving of refreshments. Radvany, Secretary 14 CLEVELAND, OHIO On a most beautiful, warm, sunshine filled Sunday afternoon, October 26, 1975, Branch 14, Cleveland, Ohio honored its 50-Year Members with a Dinner in the Hungarian Lutheran Church Social Hall, East Boulevard and Buckeye Road. Every seat in the house was sold, more than 250 came to pay tribute to these dedicated members. Shortly after 1:00 P.M. Mrs. Mary Karnya, President of Branch 14 and Chairperson for this occasion stepped to the microphone and extended sincere and fraternal greetings to all who came to this grand program. She next introduced Mr. Ernest J. Hudak, Toastmaster, member of Branch 14 and announcer on Station WELW, Cleveland. Mr, Hudak welcomed the guests and stated he would utilize both the American and Hungarian languages throughout the program. He called upon Mrs. Ilona Palacsics who beautifully rendered our National Anthem. Mr. Ignatz Strobl was next requested to lead the assembled guests in the singing of the Hungarian National Anthem. Rev. Gabor Brachna, Pastor First Hungarian Lutheran Church asked for God’s blessings on the Honorees, their families, and members of the William Penn Association. Music during the Dinner was provided by the Tokay Orchestra. Toastmaster Hudak then introduced Albert J. Stelkovics, National Secretary for the principal address. Mr. Stelkovics spoke in Hungarian to the Honorees, then in English to the assembled guests. Mr. John P Balia, National Vice President was the next speaker who congratulated the 50 year members for their dedication to the Association and on behalf of the Board of Directors presented each with a 50 year pin. Mayor Joseph Dudás of Lakeline Village also presented each with a certificate. The 50 year members honored were: Andrew Kovács, John Miller, Jr., Sándor Lukacs, Jr., Mrs. Bertalan Szilagyi, Andrew Jávor, Alexander Gordos, Mrs. Elizabeth Francis, Mrs. Susan Chesney, John Toth, John Nemeth Jr., Paul Stch, Mrs. Edward Fiala, Mrs. John E. Vanek, John Kolyvek, Joseph Szalay, Jr., Stephen Lengyel, Mrs. Margaret Purse, Andrew Sonokey, Mrs. Joseph Galo, Mrs. Elizabeth Kadar, Mrs. Mary Nehéz. John L.
