r v THE WILLIAM PENN ASSOCIATION • PITTSBURGH PA. 15219 • PHONE (412) 281-8950 VOLUME 11_________________APRIL, 1976 NUMBER 2 The Fraternal Societies of Greater Pittsburgh composed of 41 fraternal benefits Societies and Associations was organized in 1943 for the purpose of serving first of all its members and then the community at large. This group has met regularly each month for the purpose of discussing the many problems the fraternal benefit societies must contend with. The energetic President of the group, Michael Stivoric, Croatian Fraternal Union Membership Services Director, promoted the idea of honoring someone each year as Fraternalist of the year. A selection Committeee chaired by Mr. Joseph Miller, President Catholic Knights of St. George, and comprised of Daniel Zornan, President of United Lutheran Society and continued on Page 5 Bicentennial Trip to Hungary We have been writing about the Tour to Flungary being sponsored by the Association on a chartered flight in observance of our Country’s 200th birthday anniversary. This trip affords William Penn members an opportunity to visit Hungary from where either they or their parents and grandparents migrated to the United States of America. All of those who take this trip will do so with a lot of pride because they will be taking back with them to their relatives, still living in Hungary, the story of how the Hungarian immigrant through his dedicated hard work, helped to mould this country into the mighty nation it has become in only 200 years of organized existence and to boast about the many benefits the William Penn Association has provided its members over the past 90 years. The trip was scheduled to leave Pittsburgh, Pa. Monday, August 16, 1976; however, Pan-Am airlines informed us, several weeks ago, that there is no plane available for that date, thus, the actual departure date is TUESDAY, AUGUST 17, 1976, consequently the return will be one day later also. As of this writing deposits have been made for 145 seats, this leaves only 37 seats available. Therefore, those who are planning to go should get their $50.00 deposits in immediately because seats are being assigned on a first come first served basis. By the time this article is read, the brochure with complete information and detail should be in the hands of all those who made the initial deposit. Copies are also being sent to all Branch Managers, National Directors and Auditing Committee members, who are appointed local Tour Administrators and will also have a supply of these available. The airfare, roundtrip Pittsburgh, Pa. to Budapest and return at the present time remains at $380.00, subject of course to fuel cost increases if any. continued on Page 2 Joseph Milter, Pres.
