The principal speaker of the eventing was Rev. Stephen Szilagyi of Greenville, Ohio who gave an inspiring patriotic and fraternal speech emphasizing the need for continued belief in the Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of man. Director Michael Hegedűs on behalf of Br. 19, New Brunswick, N.J. presented to President Charles a check for $1,000.00 to the Scholarship Foundation. Rev. Imre Kovács gave the benediction and the program closed with the audience singing the MAGYAR HIMNUSZ. There was dancing afterwards to the fine music of Mickey Schwartz and his orchestra. During the dance drawings were made for the Saving Bonds. Winners were Jolin Hegedűs, $500.00, John T. Formaini, $250.00 and Gaspar Papp, $100.00 To those of us who were privileged to be a part of these gala festivities, it was a grand occasion which will live in our memories for a long time because the entire evening’s events were an exemplification of true fraternalism and love of fellow man, the purposes for which our great Association strives for in its everyday life.
